Using multiple Garmin watches?

Is there a best way to use multiple Garmin watches?  I have a 5X Plus Titanium and a new 6X Pro Solar Titanium.  They are both connected to my iPhone.  I continue to wear my 5X during workouts because I'm still debating on the 6X Pro and don't want to get it all banged up.  Is there a good way to sync both devices with your phone?  I have the 6X setup as my preferred device.  Any help is appreciated.

Also, my phone seems to be reinstalling all my old apps onto my 5X for some reason.  I keep getting updates on my phone and watch that old watch faces have been installed.  Not sure what's going on with that.

Thanks!

  • I have 3 watches connected to my OnePlus 7 Pro. I workout on any one of the 3 and true up takes care of keeping everything in sync. Not sure what is happening on your old watch with the watch face and whatnot. That is outside of my experience and not something I've ever seen. For me the only annoying thing about having 3 watches connected is that all 3 buzz when I get a text message. Wish Garmin could implement some detection into which watch gets the notification.

  • How exactly are you getting Garmin to record data from the different watches? Dose Garmin connect automatically do this or is it something you need to set up? I have a FENIX 7X Saphire Solar and a Vivoactive 4S I am trying to sync together.

  • You just have to make sure they are both associated with the same Garmin Connect account. If done, then activities both devices will appear there. The common mistake at people with multiple devices is, that they create a new account for the new watch.

You should verify it by going to the Devices item on the menu of the Garmin Connect app, as well as on the website Garmin Connect Web, and on the computer application Garmin Express.

Also, at both devices, the option Physio TrueUp should be enabled (that's the default option though), and you should always sync both devices when switching them (better repeat it twice).
