Can't control music volume from watch or earphones and volume too high

I first noticed this issue with my 945 and it seems the issue remains with the F6 Pro.  Most of the time, when I first connect my bluetooth earphones (Jaybird Tarah Pro), I notice two issues related to volume:

  1.  The volume is always much louder than what it was last set at.  Its loud enough to make me worry that I will damage my ears or earphones (this actually happens ALL the time)
  2. . I cannot control the volume from the watch or my earphones.  This occurs about 80% of the time.

The only way I found to correct the problem is to disconnect and reconnect my earphones.  Once I do this, everything is fine.  Anyone else notice this?

hello,i have the same problem with my fenix 6 pro.but disconnect won't help in my case.volume still at max all the time.

  • I have Tarah Pro, new Vista and yesterday connected AirPods 2. The first time for each volume was too loud so I turned it down on the watch. Each one I had to remove the first time connecting because they just would not work. The second attempt they work fine. The Vistas I use daily and all controls are working fine.

  • i useXiaomi Mi Sports BT. Works fine, including volume regulation.

  • Hopefully Garmin is looking at this thread.  Since this problem is completely repeatable (at least for me), it should be easier to identify and correct the issue.

  • I have similar problem with LG HBS-730, in my case the volume is always too loud.  The volume control works but even at the lowest setting on both the headset and the watch (which seem to be shared volume steps) it is way too loud.  Need to be able to set the volume lower.

Update: after the 4.10 software I had the same problem that others are reporting that the volume could not be adjusted at all and was shown in a gray bar.  After removing and re-pairing, the volume slider control does show black and can be raised and lowered.  Unfortunately, I still have the problem that the volume even at its lowest setting is dangerously loud to the point where the headphones are distorting.

I have the same issue. Really annoying since the whole music feature is unusable like this.

I’m having the same problem with apple airpods. First time I used them with the fenix 6 sapphire volume was a bit low. I pressed the volume up button and volume went down to minimal sound, then I could never increase volume again.
