GPS performance - excellent

First test of GPS on Fenix 6S Pro is promising.

Short ride and the tracks show perfectly what side of the road I was on - no cross-overs. Best tracks I have seen from a Garmin device, and I've owned Forerunner 630, 935, 645...

I had it set it to 1 sec recording & GPS+Galileo.

That is pretty solid! I haven't done much with Galileo as per DCR Garmin hasn't really been focusing on performance with Galileo, but these results look really good.

Where did the other GPS thread go? It's possibly been deleted? Or merged into some other thread?

My running experience has been pretty "meh" so far. Not quite as good as 945 and definitely no where near as good as the 935. (from both a track and total distance perspective)

The altimeter looks spot on as well.

Early days yet though, will go for a run tonight.

The one thing I don't like is the strap, it's on the short side for a small men's wrist, and the metal buckle digs into my forearm. I don't think Garmin do alternative silicone bands in the 20mm?

My altimeter has been spot on too, as far as i can tell it's been within +/- 10ft of my actual elevation ever since I took it out of the box 2 days ago. My old vivoactive used to frequently be wrong by 300ft or more, which is annoying because I live near sea level and it would often say I was hundreds of ft below sea level.

I'm right above the water line at the river delta right now, and my elevation is showing 7ft, which is correct. Haven't done any manual calibration whatsoever. So far I'm loving this watch!

That's really interesting about the Galileo results - I wonder if the reason Garmin hasn't been focussing on Galileo is because it was already working perfectly fine
