I am curious why PacePro allows a maximum time of 24:06:59 to create the plan. The watch was announced at UTMB where all but the top 15 finishers came in longer than this.

Heads up, if you create the pace pro plan on the watch itself theres no limit to your "goal time".
I wouldnt trust the battery to hold anyways. What you really need is a WEARABLE battery charging cable/dock/cradle, that lets you charge while you are running.
With a projected 60+ hour GPS tracking period from a full battery it can't be a battery option. I would be far more inclined to think it's an issue with the developers simply didn't consider extended…
Ask Garmin? But I suspect it's more to do with battery life than anything else.

French device PacePro is limited do 06:10:27 when configuring from App. As a consequence we can imagine it has nothing to do with battery Life. I guess it is a software issue. Is there any communication from Garmin about this topic?
It must be noticed that, as far as you launched an activity, PacePro configuration time is not limited anymore.
Have you asked Garmin?

I specifically bought the 6x's for me and my partner because it has a 60 hour gps life, we're running at 55 hour endurance race at the end of the year.

Just tried to create one using a 50k course I have coming up. Apparently it's built for people faster than me as it won't go more than 6:58
Will try doing it from the watch itself and see if there is a difference...
My apologies I missed that bit. However, I would not bank on getting anywhere near to 60 hrs using PacePro. The specifications say ‘up to’ 60 hrs but that will be for GPS+GLONASS and WHR. Start adding other stuff and that will come down quickly.
If you plan on being out for 55 hrs, great effort by the way, I would strongly recommend firstly that you try it out, secondly that you only consider GPS+GLONASS and WHR without any other sensors. And thirdly, look to charging options during your downtime to get some charge back.
