Music controls

I have exactly the same problem. Upgraded from a Series 5 to a 6X Pro. It is not possible to access the music controls. The manual says on https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/fenix66s6xpro/EN-US/GUID-DF018310-524F-4B2C-AD10-94D4CA28253B.html:

This is what I was looking for.

I followed your instructions to control audio playback on the phone.

However I only see a phone with a questionmark on the screen. Pressing play or next track does not do anything.

Do I have to connect earphones to the watch in order to work?

Using a Note 9 and fenix 6x pro solar.

Try starting a music/audio service on your phone. (ie. Spotify)

I tried it with open spotify and audible. I even tried restarting my phone and watch. None seems to work.

Great, thanks. My watch switched to Spotify after an update and I wasn't able to play my offline music on the watch any longer, this has solved my problem and even better, now I know how to control my phone's music player as well.

HI, even after updating to version 9.0. I am unable to control the music on my phone using my fenix 6.

Do I have to set up any app on my phone?

It should work. Do you have watch connected to the phone?

Run for example spotify on the phone, start some music/songs for test.

On the watch, long press the down button, next long press up/menu button, select Music Providers, select control phone and press play/pause/next.

If I do not have a music application running on my phone, if I press play on my watch, the music application that I have recently used will start on my android phone. It works with the phone unlocked. It won't work if it is blocked.
