Like many of you, I debated on the sapphire vs Solar. The solar is different and anything that extends the battery even a short amount of time is worth trying. Love the new watch so far, I’ll keep everyone posted but we’ll done Garmin.

Ordered mine too in local Garmin shop few minutes after listing. Solar Titanium carbon grey. Only thing I' m worried about is Power glass durability (have 3HR now, which is still fine after 3 years). Still thinking about changing my preorder to Sapphire, but solar function is kind of driver for me. Any thoughts related to this glass in comparison with Sapphire would be important to me and key to final solution. What do you think?
As Garmin already stated (just look for it), Sapphire glass is better than Gorilla Glass (even the one on the Solar, with the DX coating on it).
I was about to order the 6X Solar, but the Gorilla Glass didn't convince me at all, so I've ordered a 6X Sapphire instead. Also another thing made me change my mind about the Solar, the impact the solar charge will have on the battery as time goes by. I preferred waiting for the next model, just to see if they will still implement it and if they improve this technology. But hey, it's just my opinion, the choice is up to you, it's your money! ;)
I was debating between the glass or sapphire and ended up with sapphire base on my apple watch glass experience, glass is nowhere close as durable as sapphire overall.
While the solar version is great, the incremental amount of solar charge you get, doesn’t outweigh the durability of sapphire. When you consider the 6x Pro will stay charged up to 21 days, getting another 3 hours because of the solar capabilities seems very insignificant. Good thing I ordered the sapphire direct from Garmin. My solar will go back to Best Buy as soon as my sapphire arrives Tuesday. Overall I like the new 6x Pro. Without question huge upgrade from my 5x plus and best smartwatch ever!!
I'm the opposite than most of the replies.
I rather have the Solar, extra benefit of solar, but also lighter than the non solar model. I've never had an issue with lens on my Fenix 3, and Forerunner 935.
Post some photos, I'm keen to see how Grey the bezel is, me personally would prefer to see it more gray than silver...
Same here. Lighter is better. I'm waiting for mine to arrive tomorrow. From what I saw at Garmin store, it's more grey than silver.

The ‘standard’ 6X Pro Solar is certainly not silver and it’s not black either; rather I’d say they have described it correctly by calling it Carbon Grey. Tye DLC coating does have a satin rather than matt finish though. The buckle on the black silicone band is exactly the same colour/finish too. The variant with the titanium bracelet is very clearly bare titanium (silver) though.

Ah, you mean the constant battery charging. Yes, that won't have a positive affect on its lifetime. Good point!
Here is a photo of my new Fenix 6X pro solar and then a photo of both the Fenix 5X plus and the Fenix 6X pro solar. Also I’m using the titanium band from my Fenix 5X plus on my new Fenix 6X pro solar and they match perfectly.
