Fenix 6S strap - why so short?

Really disappointed to find out how short the strap is on the Fenix 6S.

Why is it so much shorter than the Forerunner 645 strap? A watch that is exactly the same dimensions as the Fenix 6S, therefore guys like me who prefer smaller running watches might see the Fenix 6S as a potential upgrade. The F6S strap has 16 holes on the bottom section compared to 21 on the 645. It means that for guys who want a Fenix but don't want to lug around a big heavy standard size Fenix for running will be securing the strap on the last hole. And because there will be no slack, the silicon buckle will dig into your forearm and will leave a nice indentation mark, as was my experience of using the Fenix 5S for running.

I'm sure they'll release a long strap option as they've done previously. A lot of people prefer the shorter straps, and you can't make everyone happy. And you can always get an aftermarket strap if you'd prefer. Borealis makes great rubber straps at a reasonable price.

It just seems odd that the Fenix 6S has a shorter strap than the 645 despite the 645 being 20 grams lighter, both are the same 42mm case size. It’s easy to tuck in a longer strap but if it’s short then there’s not much you can do about it. Do Garmin do longer 20mm QR silicon straps?

I suppose it's because the 645 was a standalone that didn't come in a range of sizes, so they figured it had to work for everyone, while the 6s was assumed to be the primary choice of people with smaller wrists? They straps will grow with wear. Not sure why it how.

Yes there is now a long strap in 20mm listed on the Garmin store but you can't seem to be able to order it yet.
