Epix gen2 can't purchase golf membership

Within golf app my watch is showing connected, when I go to try free golf membership, a screen asking to connect a device keeps popping up, I've been in contact with garmin via email and phone and have received six different answers with no fix.  Last answer was it was going to be fixed with a data patch, I don't know what to believe anymore, I've reset everything, all software is up to date.  I even generated a new account at their request.

Golf membership was my #1 priority with this watch and it doesn't work feel ripped off

  • Hi @Garmin-Cody, I followed your steps above and have screenshots which I can share if needed.

    (1) Confirmed connected

    (2) Orange profile - start free trial - im prompted to add device, go through the process end up back within Connect and see my device (connected), swipe back to Golf, no change.

Thank you for the help here, please let me know if you need screenshots etc. Sean

    Just to add, this is Garmin Golf for Android;

  • Hello,

I am encountering the exact same issue on a Fenix 7 Pro. I assume this is a software issue and will be resolved?

  • What about Venu 3?  I reading Garmin’s software update it states Venu 3 is now part of membership, yet it does not work.

  • Update as of June 5th, 2025:

This is tied to a fix we are in the process of making available through an update to the Garmin Golf app.

Once that testing is complete we'll release the update which should be released in the near future.

I do not have a specific timeframe or date the update is expected to become available, but I will update this post here in forums once the Garmin Golf app a new version available containing the fix to allow subscription for your device.

I have added you to the ticket, as compatibility for the Golf Membership features was added in the 14.15 update to the Venu 3 series, and we just need to get the Garmin Golf app updated to accommodate the subscription for that model. Other models that are listed as compatible not allowing the subscription to proceed will also be updated to allow for the subscription to be processed as well.

  • Do you have an android phone or Apple iOS, my daughter has venu3s and I was able to access the free trial with her watch on her Iphone, my epix gen2 is still not letting me buy the golf membership, really hoping sorted soon golf season is short.

  • Your specific epix model is not compatible with the Garmin Golf membership due. The non-pro epix Gen 2 Standard edition is not available for compatibility with the subscription features. The Pro edition of the epix Gen 2 Standard edition is compatible.

  • Golf app people and website says otherwise, I've got screenshots saying so.

  • You are correct!  The PDF file published by Garmin relating to latest update does list  epic series.  And I understand the frustration as I have Venu 3 and membership does not work when release states otherwise.  Garmin did say there is a patch fix in the works that should fix these issues coming soon with an update in the golf app.  Still not firm time line.

  • When you were communicating with Garmin Support about the concern, initial troubleshooting was provided and after further discussions with support they advised you that your model of epix gen 2 is not compatible.

You have been provided a link to the compatibility page for the Garmin Golf Membership subscription showing all of the compatible devices with the subscription. You will not find your epix Gen 2 model on that list.

As a direct representative of Garmin, and an expert on our Golf products...I am advising you with verified information in my response to you in this thread that your epix gen 2 model is not compatible, nor should it allow subscription for the Garmin Golf Membership.

You must have a Pro edition of the epix Gen 2 in order to have compatibility with the Garmin Golf membership. Your epix model is not a pro edition.

Per the Garmin Forum Terms of Use, please refrain from repetitive comments on the thread stating your device should be compatible as you have been advised by me and by Garmin Support that your model is not compatible.

If you have questions regarding the compatibility of the Garmin Golf Membership, please reach out to Garmin Support for any assistance needed.

  • The non-pro editions are not compatible with the Garmin Golf Membership. If you review the changelog for the latest public update for the epix Gen 2 pro/non-pro editions...you will not see any information stating that there was any sort of update adding Garmin Golf Membership compatibility for the epix Gen 2.

The pro editions have been compatible. The non-pro editions of the epix Gen 2 (which were released a year or so prior to the Pro editions of the epix Gen 2 series) are not compatible.

Please note there is a model difference of epix Gen 2 series devices, with the models listed as "Pro" and models that does not contain the word "Pro" in the title for the device.
