But if you look at the competition - all have their bugs and flaws, sadly...
Of course you are right. I don't know how it is exactly with other manufacturers, but Garmin's approach to software…
not sure at all, Garmin never communicate even with threads on Reddit with more 3000 Up Votes ... :-(

Its really wieird…i just bought epix pro gen 2 … not sure if even it is worth or fenix 8 would have been a better option in terms of features updates
Not just in regards of Garmin, but you always should buy products for what they are not for what they might become...
This feature, and the swipe to unlock, seem very unnecessary and tedious. Why do you want this? My watch is either always on or in the drawer in my bedroom.
I just dont want my kids to play with it when i am not wearing it
Ah, noted. My daughter can use my phone but she knows if she touches my Garmin it's game over. Jk. Or am I?

Garmin releases "half-baked" products with dozens of flaws. Imagine if calls on your phone didn't work because the manufacturer released the product in that condition. Or if they promised you certain features and then didn't release them. Or if a phone that costs three times less has more features than yours.
Recently, some functions that were there before were removed - Map Theme and Auto Discover for external sensors. Without a word of explanation from Garmin. So we don't have all the functionalities that we had when we bought the watch - and someone might have really cared about Map Theme.
Many functions currently work worse than before, there are more bugs, the watch is unstable and unreliable.
When buying the watch, no one expected this and certainly didn't pay for such a future for their Fenix 7 ;)
Nope, I actually bought the watch about half a year ago for what it was back then. Not for what it was or what it might become. TBH, I thought ECG could come to it eventually, but I didn't hold my breath about it.
