ECG app now available in Euorpe for Fenix 8, Enduro 3 and Venu 3 watches

...but not for Epix 2 Pro customers XDDDD

  • No UK.

Must be yet another one of the great benefits of Brexit Rolling eyes Rage

  • you can ask Garmin, not EU. Because nobody have it on the Fenix 7 Series ;-)

  • Garmin:

  • Garmin:

Thank you for contacting Garmin Product Support. We will be happy to take care of your request and help you.

Garmin intends to expand its portfolio of products that support the ECG app over time and subject to necessary regulatory approvals. Garmin makes no statements about product developments or the compatibility of features with existing or future products.

We wish you a pleasant week.

    Yup.  Sounds about right.

  • Hum, not sure the reply from Garmin "sounds about right", i can misundertsand you because i'm not fluent.

    • Garmin release Fenix 7 and Epix Pro 18 months ago
      • ECG Active in some countries
      • ECG Ready in others, Garmin said waiting for regulatory approval in the relevant zone

    • Garmin release Fenix 8 Series 4 months ago
      • ECG active in some countries
      • And now ECG is Active in EU zone

So it's not the responsability of any regulatory entity, but Garmin choice.

  • Of course it is. Do not forget about Venu 3 that received ECG. Why? Cause there is no Venu 4 yet and so people may want to buy it. Only Epix 2 Pro and F7 Pro customers have been ignored, as it has been replaced by F8 and, for Garmin, those watches are obsolete and old now. Buy new product and save the planet! ClownClownClown

  • Buy new product and save the planet!

    LaughingLaughing

Venu 3 that received ECG. Why? Cause there is no Venu 4

I can understand that Garmin wants to convince users to upgrade to newer watches, but not in such a way that the flagship watch has fewer functions than a mid-range watch from the same year! That's a joke!

If Garmin wants to add exclusive functions only for the latest Fenix 8 series, fine. But don't make these things available to e.g. Venu 3, just because there is no newer generation...

By the way, I wonder how users of still "fresh" Fenix 8 feel knowing that in a year and a half Garmin may treat them the same way.

  • I didn't buy the F8 becauase I was waiting for the new Tactix in 47mm. But not only is the F8 release disappointing (Tactix is usually not much more than a glorified, tacticool F8 at the end of the day), but also the decision to not allow ECG on the Epix Pro made me rethink this idea. I guess I will keep my Epix Pro for much longer, waiting for something more innovative from Garmin than just a facelift and a higher price tag. If Garmin continues along this current course, it will become like Apple in a few years: New, more expensive releases without adding many new features. Let us hope that F8 and I3 are just engineering flops and marketing mistakes. The FR 975 is next I guess, we will see if the boring show continues.....But I don't want to miss the opportunity to thank Garmin for the money I saved

  • it will become like Apple in a few years

I wish, nearly bug free watch on release day, and only improved with next software updates.

    New, more expensive releases

Apple did not increase the prices as much as Garmin did. Yes, Ultra watch is more expensive but it's new model so the starting price was higher than standard iWatch. Actually it is Garmin that has increased prices over the years more than Apple. Remember what was Fenix 7 price? $699. Fenix 8 costs $999 now...

    without adding many new features

They do, their iWatches get software updates for 5-6 years. Every watch gets new features as the latest models, unless hardware does not allow to do so.

  • You are right...but I was referring to Apple as a whole...not only to their watches. IPhones are now obscenely expensive, while the prices for the AW are still compartively sane. Even though I very much disagree on the features. The main difference between the AWU 1 and 2 is the DLC, not much else, and with their non-Ultras....there is not much new between 6-7-8-9-10...at least nothing that justifies a new one every year. As for software, Apple is abolutely great with updating their stuff. The worst that could happen to the world of fitness devices would be if Apple would make their watches available to non-iPhone users.

As for me, I owned an AW5 for about 6 month before I gave it to my daughter. I just couldn't stand the avarage battery life. So I'll stick with Garmin...
