Announcements language switches to english every start

Hi, every time I restart my Epix Pro watch and start an activity the language for the announcements on my headset is in English and Female although German is selected in the settings of my watch. If I go into the announcements settings and switch the language to another language and back to German, the announcements come back in the right language at my headset. At the next restart of the watch, the announcements are back again in English. The problem is only when using a bluetooth headset connected directly to my watch. When using my phone with garmin connect and get the announcements on the speakers of the phone the language is always correct in German. I've already done a hard reset, deleted watch from connect but to no avail.

Has anyone an idea? Perhaps restoring the voice files on the watch?

I just installed update 19.38 and the problem with the audio prompt on earphones still exist. Do I (and others) have to call the support or can you get this issue to your engineers?

I noticed this already several weeks ago,contacted support.A firmware update was promised,but nothing happened so far.My workaround is to not power down the watch,then the settings remain.If you have to restart the watch go to announcements and change language and male to another language and female and back again.

That's exactly my workaround just to keep the watch powered on although i only use it when doing activities.

As the weird behaviour started with one of the last firmware updates I hope it can be solved also with hopefully the next update...

Update November 18, 2024:

Our engineers have released a fix for this issue with the latest SW version 19.34. So if you are experiencing this, please install the latest update using Garmin Express. If the issue persists, try change your Audio prompt language setting, then changing this back again.

Unfortunately my problem still exists. I just checked and changed the language to German male. After a restart it is again an English female voice although in the settings its stTed German male.

Is it perhaps possible to completely reinstall the voice language pack?

Just to add. My Fenix 7x Pro behaves the same. I can change the language to french, male and after restart its back to English female. Its really strange

Problem is still there in the last update (19.34). It was not resolved.

Hi, we were never informed about that fix during Beta Phase, then we do not test it specifically, but saw report that it was an always issue during beta.

And on 22 October a Bug Report was done about this specific issue, without any reaction from G.

We also do not understand, nor receive any explanation, why this beta end 1 month before the end of the Quarter ?

And if i can ask, why the changelog is truncated ? compared to Edge and Forerunner (for the same change, like threshold) ?

Not all fixes are listed in the change log. These will commonly only include the most reported or highlighted fixes. However, thank you reporting your are still experiencing this concern. I will update our engineers that this is still occurring, and see if they need anything additional.

This is strange, i'm on 19.34 since it was released and I'm still having this bug.
