Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered a concern with incident detection remaining active, after ending an activity recording. They have released a BETA software fix, version 18.15 that…
Hello,
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with rapid battery drain since installing Software version 18.14. Our engineers would like to investigate this concern further. Since this researching this…
I do understand the concern with battery drain. And this is something that Garmin is concerned with addressing as well. It is not a question of how many people are reporting this, but since it doesn't…

Quite simply: Garmin has not created a ticket. Obviously…
I am now experiencing battery drain for the first time after latest update
Lucky you but who cares?
It's not luck, it's advice. I've had Garmin since 2014 and learned to wait a month after each update. But since you don't care, do as you will.
Do you also give clever tips to people who have a breakdown after the fact?
Option is: start from the beginning.
I have made my experience with my epix pro 51mm after an beta-update early this year, after that all my health data went dramatic down and stays down over days! I also tried the first steps wit restart, hard reset, reload software, nothing helped.
At the end I have tried so much that my watch did not come to live after a hard reset, only the start-up screen was visible, no other reaction, it stays for ours, no switch off possible, nothing ...
The only option was to let the watch run until the battery was empty and see what happens then ...
But next morning, over night, the watch has restartet!
And now I started carefully from the beginning: removed from GE and removed GC from my mobile, the started with reinstalling last software with holding start-back together with light buttons and wait for the first beep a.s.o. ..
I did this twice. After that I connected to GE on my pc, had to add as new device, that worked, next I installed GC on my phone and added my watch, also that worked. I only checked, if the Golf and std. outdoor maps are there and step for step I organized my activities and apps, nothing from CIQ, in between restarts of my watch, if this keeps working.
After this basic organizing I used only Golf, walking and cycling for a week, all was working fine. After that periode I re-organized my watch also with CIQ apps and watch faces and since that time I did not had any problems withy my watch, all is working fine, no exceptional battery drain, no unwanted restarts, did a lot of beta updates and now on 18.14 ...
with the battery app I keep an eye on the battery, but it works fine, since January with GPS 2h/day a drain of roundabout 10%:
Is there a way to downgrade to 17.23?
This is what everyone wants. Problem is those that think they have it probably will struggle to know how to share a large file or care to.
hi, contact me in DM
In light of this thread even though I don't seem to be having a problem (yet), and the fact that the Epix line is being phased out, I am returning my Epix and going to try the fenix 8 solar.
Good luck
Updated and my battery life has now halved. If they ever fix this, I am never updatng my watch again.
gamrin make great hardware and AWFUL software
