New sw 18.14 Battery Drain

I don't understand why Garmin released this version if in beta program it is fully bug inside....and the major issue is battery drain!!

Anyone has tried to update at this version?

I do understand the concern with battery drain. And this is something that Garmin is concerned with addressing as well. It is not a question of how many people are reporting this, but since it doesn't effect everyone, it is important to be able to get specific examples for those that are reporting it. This would include collecting logging data. This allows our engineers to diagnose the concern.

Thank you to those of your that have already reached out to me via Private Message (I have already responded to you), that wish to do this. And I will continue to do so, and report those details to our engineers to this can be investigated.,

Just to add another voice. Updated to 18.14 and battery life went down about three to four days. No change in my activity.

Another unhappy customer her. Updated to 18.14 last week on my Epix 2. Battery life is now about three to five days shorter than it was before. No change in my activity level or settings.

I'm hoping that Garmin can fix this problem. Soon.

So I read “we haven’t found the root cause yet”. This is quite sobering. I haven’t visited this forum for more than a year. My 2yo Epix 2 started to drain about a month ago. I opted out of the beta program and is now on 18.14 and my battery is still dying in about 4-5 days instead of 13-14 as I used to. I think the problem is that by the time you would notice the problem the official non beta version was released.

Same problem here on an Epix 2 after the upgrade to 18.14.

I never suffered any battery drain in the past. I'm now losing around 15% of battery per day (without doing activity). Of course, no change in the daily routine.

I have decided to reset to defaults, this seems to have stabilised my battery drain, hopefully this helps others
