Can't see music info

For past couple of weeks, music controls is blank. I usually play music on my phone (not any of the garmin connect apps like spotify)

I tried reinstalling connect app as well as reconnecting the watch to bluetooth (forget and re-pair) but still unable to see the info. I am able to control it however (like pause, play, etc.)

  • I came back to her offer. But the reply is as always, send us all your data, software versions and make uploads and screenshots. That's a lot of work, would take me more than 1 hour and I'm not willing to do that anymore. I've done that for all the other issues I have and there never was a reply, a thank you and especially no solution in any way.

I'm a paying customer for a premium product, not a beta tester. Garmin makes one feel as an applicant, not as a customer who bought one of their best premium sports watches!

  • The music control is working on my Epix 2. But it doesn't show the titles anymore. It is know issue. What should i do? I did hard reset already.

  • Similar for me. With AIMP it shows nothing. With Phonograph it shows the titles but the time dies not change at all when you switch to the next song.

Funny, in the Garmin Connect forum all the Venu 3 users with this problem are happy because they got an update that seems to solve those issues.

So to Garmin: I belive that premium watches aren't really first on your priority list!

  • In the Garmin Connect App forum it is stated that the Venu 3 users got their update that seems to solve that issue.

What's about premium watches like Epix or Fenix? Is that the priority of Garmin for their premium customers, serve them last?

  • Venu 3 users got their update

v4.77 - no info in Music Control - Garmin Connect Mobile Android - Mobile Apps & Web - Garmin Forums

I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Just one person stated it, but unsure as to whether it was the app or a firmware update or something else. There are no updates on the Venu 3 forum to indicate a device update since version 9.24 over a month ago.

  • Ok, let's see. I'll wait until tomorrow and then I will claim a new watch on my warranty and I will do that as long as it works or I'll get a refund.

All those problems take too much of my free time I wanted to have fun with my watch and not sitting inside trying to gather data for garmin software developers, doing factory resets and reinstall everything or just trying to solve all my issues somehow.

New watch, new luck is the game for me then.

  • Force stop garmin connect on your phone, clear the app cache, clear the app data, uninstall the app and reinstall it. It might work without the clearing part, but I wanted to be sureSweat smile

@garmin No, factory reset is not a solution. Recommening factory resets is just stupid. Some people have quite a few custom settings, apps. Also while I was aware I'm buying into a sport watch with crappy smart watch feature, I do expect from a £800 watch some basic music controls that work... And maybe put both forward and replay on the same page..

  • I am not sure if you are on android or iPhone as that may make a difference.

I am on android and recently had a similar issue in that when playing music on my phone my connected watch wasn't recognizing it - I tried a couple of music players and the car was picking up the phone playing music (sure song titles stick sometimes on the car - but then its always done that to a degree).

I tried the normal go to corrections methods (per what garmin has listed) - however the only thin I found that worked was locking the the music apps into the background (i.e. similar to what you do with the connect app).

So not sure how much of this is garmin connect app and how much of this is android (which is why would be interesting to know if only android users impact or iphone too) - but whitelisting my music apps resolved the issue and now watch is controling phone media without any issues.

  • I have both garmin connect and youtube music with unrestricted battery use. That does not help much. Force stop garmin connect, clear cache and stop and start the music player helps for a while, at least

  • But the reply is as always, send us all your data, software versions and make uploads and screenshots. That's a lot of work

Garmin does understand, your time is valuable. Anytime a concern is brought up, Garmin gives it their full attention.

When our engineers are not able to reproduce and issue internally, than they request to collect enough specific examples of exactly what is occurring to determine the cause. The more specific examples of this issue, the more likely this can be resolved quickly. And getting these types of concerns resolved quicker is important, so you dont have to be even more inconvenienced by having to look at replacing a device etc.

Regardless if you are able to take the time to help provide examples of the issue, your feedback is appreciated.
