Nap feature is recording chilling on the couch as naps

When laying on the couch I get it recorded as naps, I think the nap feature should be non-automatic and required an enable/disable. At least a possibility for people to decide if they want it auto tracked or not, cause as it is now, it’s recording too many naps that are not naps.

  • Well, if there only was the nap detection issue I would be very happy with the Epix Pro and I would agree to wait for improvements.

But for all the other software issues I had with my Epix Pro up to know I asked Garmin support during a call  to write an official Email to me in which they state that all my issues are software related and they can't promise when or even if those issues will be solved and they make a proposal for a refund to the retail store. They also stated to me that an exchange watch would probably have the same issues. Before that call they denied all problems I had. Might be I got to right person this time (two hours waiting in the hotline by the way).

With this I will try to get a refund in the retail store next week and I hope that my Garmin story will then be finally over.

(Anyway, even if I get my money back this adventure had cost me about 100 hours of my free time and that's not the way it should be for a premium watch)

  • Not sure what version of the connect app you are on, but for mine which is android version 4.77: https://imgur.com/a/KFid0Zs (its not an option on the web - its an app only option at this point in time).

Press calendar. When in calendar - on the top right next to the menu option (3 vertical dots) - to the left of it is the filter option (looks like an equalizer -i.e 3 horizontal sliders) - press that to get the filter options.

  • I know it’s on the app. I use the web.

  • Of those 100 hours you‘ve spend 50 complaining here and on the german forum, right? Smirk

  • No, that time here in the forum I have spent additional for potential customers to warn them about Garmins software issues!

I really tried everything to solve that problems and spent a lot of time with that. Why can't you just accept that? I really think that some people here are paid/ supported or whatever by Garmin. Have a look in independent forums like reddit and you'll get another picture, a real one without all the fan people here!

    Cheers!

  • You will get the same picture for every brand(look at the applewatch sub...1 person asking about battery drain, one about how the last update is bad and wants to downgrade, someone else asking how it's possible that watch recorded 2 hours of wrong sleep, etc etc)

Majority of people will complain about something and that's because people don't write when they are satisfied...they do it only when they are not.

Also i don't see so many complains on Reddit...people mainly discuss stuff about zones/training effects and HR accuracy(again, as in every other sub or forum).

You should also understand that if you have some problems it's not that everyone else will have the same(again, like for majority of other brands).

Look how many naps i had in March...and they were real naps.

If Garmin doesn't work with you, move on...send it back, sell it and move on.

  • I have provided feedback as have many others, the issue is that there was a bata of the naps function and feedback was provided, there were issues and they rolled out the function anyway without addressing them properly. Literally the whole issue could be solved with an option to turn off auto detection or simply asking users to confirm that it was actually a nap as other platforms do. Unlike you I still get 2-3 false naps a day from sitting at my desk working give that I have a low RHR data has been forwarded to Garmin). This impacts other data that I use and has pushed me away from a watch that I used to love.

    I Agree

This is how I would like it to work. When you have automatic sleep and nap detection as today then it would be great if possible to delete a nap from the watch, e.g., by swipe it away in the BB widget on the factors screen.

Also as you say an option to completely turn of automatically sleep and nap detection in which case you have to start and stop them manually. Of course you need some way to edit sleep/naps from GC App in case you did forgot to stop them. This will also solve many issues with shift workers that can’t use the sleep schedule properly

  • then would suggest raising a ticket requesting they update the web calendar to allow filters to show which health metrics etc are shown.
