DC Rainmaker has said he believes the hardware is on this device and only needs Garmin to activate it via a software update. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks.

so you are 100% certain it is coming ?I have no idea... lol
Was just pointing out the HR sensor on the non pro models do not support ECG.
ECG? I have never heard of such technology. If anything…
I'll just say the same thing that I said to folks buying the original non-Pro models last year who had the expectation that it might eventually have ECG:
Don't buy a watch with the expectation that…
The only people who know work for Garmin or the FDA. So no. The speculations / "insider information" about ECG coming to the original Epix 2 / Fenix 7 were dead wrong, so... you just have…
Great for owners of pro devices, but epix 2 (non pro) does not have hardware support...

ECG? I have never heard of such technology. If anything should change in the capability of the new Pro models, it would make sense that our marketing would make a big announcement. Unless that happens, ECG? What's that?
hi, great answer.
LOL
I'll just say the same thing that I said to folks buying the original non-Pro models last year who had the expectation that it might eventually have ECG:
Don't buy a watch with the expectation that it will have a feature that has not actually been advertised or promised by Garmin! If you buy a Pro model because you are expecting that it will have ECG someday, you are nuts. Garmin has never promised any such thing, and it may never happen. Yes, it is widely assumed and reported (by 3rd parties, not Garmin) that the Pro models likely have the hardware/sensors required for ECG functionality, but there is no guarantee that it will ever be turned on.
Therefore, nobody can or should get upset if ECG takes an extremely long time to arrive, or never arrives at all. If you bought the watch with that expectation, that's entirely on you. You should only buy a watch based on the features it actually has today.
Invariably, however, people are going to get mad anyways because... it's the Garmin forum and that's what people here do best ;)

Yes, DC is not a Garmin employee.
