Will the updated/more detailed Golf maps of Approach S70 be coming to Epix Gen2/Fenix 7?

The course maps of the new Approach S70 are more colorful and show tree detail. Will these updated maps be coming to the Epix Gen 2 and Fenix 7?

While nothing restrics Garin from announcing future features, generally only company designated spokes persons can - usualy marketing. Unless Chris is designated as such as spokes person he can't otherwise…

I bought the EPIX Gen 2 last year for around £900 for the AMOLED display for golf. I would be very disappointed if Garmin did not update the maps and new features for this!

Hi there,

Can you confirm if the new Epix Pro (Gen 2) that was released in the last week, have the updated golf map graphics as per the S70?

I'm looking to purchase an active watch, but would really love the S70 graphics that are super slick!

Can anyone confirm - does the Epix Pro have the same "Plays Like" feature as the S70?

It does have a plays like feature https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-E5C62F3F-DCE3-4197-8CA5-E419B2A55D12/EN-US/GUID-4D16CAF9-F14F-44D0-8860-B5BEF6DB9F72.html but it isn't as advanced as the S70's which now also takes weather into consideration.

It does yes. But it does not have where it shows you what went into that calc like on the s70

Nothing about golf updates for the EPIX Gen 2.

Seems official. Garmin isn't going to to update the EPIX.

That notice is about the last round of updates that was just released and has been in beta for the last 2-3 months. The next round of updates expected to include the new features that came out at least with the Epix Pro will be in Q3 of 2023 (beta program will likely start soon). Whether or not that also includes the golf updates, we’ll have to see, but the notice you linked to doesn’t mean that it will definitely not be included in the next update.

There is also no notification here they will stop updating Epix either.

Considering the Epix / Fenix is getting all the updated improvements you post makes little to no sense.

I can’t believe Garmin don’t keep us informed, I wouldn’t have purchased my Garmin Marq gen two, they are Garmins best watches, they should have the latest software, the day the s70 was released, was the day the update should have happened, considering Marq gen 2, costs more than double that of the s70, embarrassing.
