Hello all,
I’ve got some connectivity issues with my Epix gen 2, and perhaps you can be of assistance.
So for the past several months (or possibly even more than a year) I have recurring issues with connectivity of external sensors.
It started with my wireless bluetooth earplugs (Jaybird Vista) that I use when running. Multiple times during a run these earplugs are disconnected (on various occasions/timings, no clear frequence or reason noticeable). I have to manually reconnect them again by pressing play on the Spotify playlist again, or through the connect option in the sensors menu.
Similarly I use my Epix for indoor bike rides (Keiser M3i) in my own living room, connected to K2pi sensor (so cadence and speed from the bike are connected to my Garmin/connect).
During a bike ride, on multiple times (10-20 at least) the cadence and speed sensors are disconnected, and automatically reconnect. This creates a significant discrepancy between the actual distance biked (as shown on the Keiser M3i display) and the distance as shown on my Epix bike activity screen. The disconnects are clearly visible in the image below.
Now, you may say it has to do with faulty earplugs or the k2pi sensors, however that is not the case.
When my girlfriend connects with these sensors on her Garmin Forerunner 955 there are never any disconnects, under otherwise identical circumstances.
My Epix gen 2 (and the Forerunner 955) are both running the latest firmware.
Removing and reconnecting the sensors does not resolve the issue.
Thank you kindly for your assistance,
Daan
