Can icons be hidden from the navigation screen?

Can the icons be hidden from the navigation map? This is what I am seeing when doing a city walk or run. The icons completely obscure the route and make map use totally impossible. High, medium and low detail settings make no difference.

Also, if I search for a poi which is about 1m away the search just hangs and never returns a result. Anyone else experiencing that?

Sorry. Not sure what you’re talking about word processors for. I’m talking about the Garmin maps and navigation feature, which covers the route display with POI icons, making the maps and navigation features…

No - and please refer to the thread already on this subject. I suspect the whats around you is hanging due to high volume of local POI.

Why? I’ve paid Garmin £800 for a watch with maps and navigation on it.

It's not meant to be used in the middle of the city on a stroll to find something to do. Think of it this way:

If Garmin has a word processor (microsoft word for example) on it would you forget bringing your laptop and type a paper up on your watch with a bluetooth keyboard only to say it's too small and garmin needs to fix it?

Use something like google maps, yelp, apple maps, etc if you want the best experience for finding fun things to do and leave your watch for navigation when you're in the middle of a mountain on a 60 mile trail with no cell service.

I started the thread above, I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one annoyed by this! It is really unusable in dense urban areas.

Last time I checked it wasn’t unreasonable to go for a run in a city centre and expect the fitness tracker and navigation device that you have purchased to be usable.
