Wrong heart rate monitor during training

First of all, I wear the watch correctly, neither too tight nor too loose. It cannot slip during training and is far enough away from the wrist ankle.
Training is the repeated ascent and descent of the same mountain.

Question: The relatively correct pulse is displayed up to the 18th minute. From then on, despite the same effort (same incline, relatively same speed), I received heart rate data in the 115 range for over 23 minutes, although the 160 range would be correct? This deviation is extreme and I can no longer do anything with this data!
From the 40th minute onwards, my heart rate is back in the realistic range.
How can this be with a 1,100€ fitness watch? Absolutely unacceptable (Garmin Epix 2; Sapphire Brown Titanium)

Following another Plot (Training) with similar problem.

Beforehand: Yes

  • It's an HR measurement issue with the Garmin Epix watches that Garmin apparently refuses to acknowledge or fix. Only workaround is to buy a HR chest strap. I would strongly recommend to just buy a good quality but much cheaper Chinese brand. For example the Magene H303 costs about 25% of what you pay for the Garmin equivalent and is just as good or even better.

  • I purchased the Coospo HW706 HR sensor that fits at your arm. Although the sensor is optical it measures HR flawlessly and accurately without any spikes or sudden HR changes over time. It is also positive that the battery lasts for many weeks and the sensor does not require to be wet like in the chest sensors.

  • That is if you don't want / need running dynamics data. If you do, you need a "real" running chest strap, not a simple one just for HR.

  • any news on this? This has nothing to do with accuracy discussion. It is a bug as proven over and over. What is Garmin's stance on this? How can it be this software bug is not fixed for such a time? Garmin support in Spain, told me they can't change the watch as the substitute may suffer from the same problem. We need Garmin to take a stance in the form of recall if the bug is permanent, since the watch is in warranty, or provide a software fix otherwise.
