Pool swim distance tracking issue

I just got the new Epix Gen 2 watch yesterday and went for a pool swim this morning. I loaded my workout but noticed that none of the intervals had distance detected. Then I stopped that activity and started a new one and same issue. Both activities have correct interval times and HR but no distance, nor stroke detection (it’s enabled for the activity).

I had correctly set pool size before the activity and watch was updated to 7.20 software version.

    Did my first swim to see if I have the same issue. Not only did it not record the distance, but also stopped recording stress afterwards. Realising that the next day when I received no sleep score and body battery was completely wrong. #donotknowhowtotagyou software 7.35

    I have used the Epix for the past 4 weeks, doing three swims per week. The watch had worked faultlessly during each swim. Today however, for my first set of ten laps, it recorded only the time taken. Nothing else. I saved the activity, closed the app, reopened the app and it recorded the next 3 sets of ten laps, without issue.

    This is also happen to me after i setted the Swimming Pool Size 40m. Then i swim several times the distance won’tnappear. I try with my older Gamrin Fenix 3HR the distance can appear. I hope Garmin will solve this issue A.S.A.P. Thank you

    And now I have the same problem. Poolswim is broken not registering any distance. Hope Garmin can get a fix for this soon. Opened a ticket with support and  they will replace if the error persists. Let's hope its software and not hardware...

    This happened to me again today. Swim Monday was perfect, only recorded drills today. Closed app, no joy. Soft restarted, no joy. Copied activity, no joy. Cussed out Garmin, no joy. Scheduled workout, no joy. 
    I’ll try a pair of hard resets, but I had a Remote Racing swim  scheduled that I may miss out on because of this super annoying bug.

    Not sure how this fits in to the problem. But if I discards the poolswim activity after it has faild to register distance,  my wrist activation stops working. Can anyone else repeat this or is it just me?

    In all the too-many-times this has occurred to me, the gyro and/or accelerator stopped working afterwards. So, no steps count and wrist gesture did not work. In the last swims, I started a run activity, waited a while, and then went back to swimming. Distance count was working just fine. Not sure if this just was an accident so you try and see.

    On my last swim I had to reset the watch 3 times before it started tracking laps. I would have thought a beta version would have been available by now. Hoping its around the corner.

    Last info i got was that the developers were on to something and that we would hear from them in this forum. Let's hope they have a fix soonThumbsup

    This issue is resolved after updating to software version 8.18.
