Others with Audio dropouts using Beats Fit Pro’s and Epix 2?

Wearing my Epix 2 sapphire on the left hand.  Notice frequent audio dropouts over BT using my Beats Fit Pro’s during a run activity.  Switching to Mono makes no difference (although unsure if that should affect marginal BT performance).

Swapped over to my older Powerbeats BT headphones (this model is also BT, but each earpiece is wired to the other rather than being independent) and no issues at all.

Wondering if anyone else observing this.

Have considered swapping the Epix to the Right hand, but would rather avoid that hassle in all honesty.

  • Hi all, after constant audio drop outs and asking for either a replacement or refund from Garmin since Feb.- they eventually agreed to a refund. However I love the watch and asked the shops I bought it from if I could try a replacement.. and drum roll.. the new watch works perfectly with Bluetooth. Now Garmin said this was a software issues but I’m now convinced it was hardware! Thought I’d update all.. get them to replace or refund as you have a faulty product

  • I have the same problem with 645.  Music drops in and out constantly when walking.  Today I took the watch off and held in my hand and it seemed to improve.  Once I fasten back to wrist it becomes unstable.  Haven’t noticed as much when I run or bicycle.  The BT should be able reach the watch, it’s not that far to the end of my wrist.

  • The glitches you experienced did not get the headphones unpaired?

  • I got my Epix 2 yesterday (coming from a Fenix where I had the same issue I’m about to describe), I paired my Beats Fit Pro with the watch and it all went smoothly.  Started listening to music while standing still and it all seemed to behave so I thought I was good.  Started my run and didn’t get 25 yards before the audio kept cutting out every second.  So seems like it was something as soon as I started running (maybe wrist movement, I do wear a HRM but it’s using ANT+ so shouldn’t be interfering).  So I went back into my house, unpaired the Beats Fit Pro and paired my AfterShokz and they work flawlessly, no audio cutouts and everything was clear for the entire hour I ran.  Same thing happened on my Fenix 7 and I just used my AfterShokz instead of the Beats but was hoping maybe they had it fixed.  Guess not.

  • Seems to be a lottery. The Bluetooth chip is clearly not good enough.for outdoor listening. The only buds I've ever had work properly are the Airpods.pro 1. My galaxy buds2 pro and Airpods Pro 2 are awful with it.

  • Was this issue resolved or is there a fix? Been getting this problem, all of a sudden it just disconnects from Jabra ear buds, im running version 10.44

  • The reports of Bluetooth headphone audio or connectivity issues have gone down significantly over the last 2 quarterly updates as improvements have been made to address potential issues but there are the occasional reports like your own.

If possible, try another pair of Bluetooth headphones to help confirm if the issue developed with your watch or your Bluetooth headphones.

  • AirPods Pro 2 were fixed but as I put above it's a bit of a lottery. My Galaxy Buds 2 Pro still cut out when outside. They are rock solid indoors.

  • Thanks, i actually got the Jabra ear buds as i was having the issue with my old buds and guessed it was maybe something to do with them!  (only found this thread when the same issue happened with the new buds and looking for a fix) The Jabra are running the most current software version, contacted Garmin support in Australia who asked i tried wearing the watch on my right wrist but that didn't help, will do a full re set on the watch this weekend.

  • i actually got the Jabra ear buds

This is an old thread but it might still apply to the new Jabras (or any ear buds) that can be seen by your watch as a sensor (foot pod) - Jabra Elite Active 65t disconnects when press START

The Jabra Elite 65t can be paired with the watch as a footpod as well, that's why you experience audio disconnects.

Go to the Sensors menu, pair the Jabra footpod, then when it's paired set its status to off. In that case when you start the activity it won't search for the Jabra footpod and the audio won't disconnect either.
