Where do you get quick release pins?
The Quick release band pins are designed for the Fenix 6 series and earlier. If you place these on the current models, including the Epix gen 2. these…
I've managed to remove mine using boxcutter/stanley knife. I found holding the watch upright in one hand and applying some downwards pressure to the pin (with thumb) whilst using the blade to pull…
Just wanted to leave a big thank you! With the box cutter it was really easy! It took maybe twenty seconds per pin! Now enjoying my Nick Mankey band
Updating this thread with some potentially useful new information:
Apparently there is an innovative new design to the 22mm springbars on the MARQ Gen 2 watches that makes them easily removable.
Here's…
Sure.

I used the skinny tip end of the pry tool, and I used another tool I have from my cell phone kit to hold the bar down. I wanted to hold the ear tip but it was too difficult to reach as you all know the space is quite tight.
Thanks, this was helpful. The first time I tried to do it, I chickened out. I felt like I was going to break the plastic on the watch and just stopped. Put it down and came back the next day to try and was able to get the pins off. If anyone else wants to try, it would only work for me if the tool was strait up and down (perpendicular to the watch face). And it took a bit more pressure than I was probably comfortable with to do it, but it worked.
The plastic or composite forming the holes on the watch where the pins go in is quite hard. I tried to push a needle into there so I can use it to pry out the pins and could not. I even tried to tap a thin needle on the outside of the hole (so that I can use the needle to push the pin in) and was not able to make any progress.
So small update. I was able to get a pair of Fenix 6 replacement pins (ones that can be put on and off) from Garmin. I removed the existing pins with the watch tool listed here and I have to say they fit perfect in the Epix 2. Now I can freely use quickfit bands AND Mankey bands.
My original Epix pins look different compared to the pins that are removed from the device in that video. No way to remove mine easily with just a simple box cutter.
Yeah they look different when he's using the box cutter but once extracted they do look legit, shoulderless pins. A box cutter with a sharp blade is probably the best bet too instead of the usual watch pin tool that needs a "shoulder" to work. Anyway I use the "Yooside" velcro now instead of my old 22mm velcros and it works fine and probably looks better anyway.
100% the pin he is removing is different to the one in mine. In his there seems to be a massive gap between to pin part and the middle barrel. On mine the gap is barely the thickness of a blade so cant pull back. Also why the out of focus video, if you're going to do I guide at least properly show what you're doing.
Yeah the video is not very well executed and the gap does seem bigger but what really matters is the fact that they are shoulderless and can't be removed with the usual pin tool or even with your fingers directly like on the F6 (or any other watch where the strap is not present)
Yep. I’m tempted to just cut them out (already have a set of fenix 6 pins). Just a little worried about warranty as others have mentioned.
