GPS accuracy is really bad.

Another run in auto select mode. This is not cherry picking, both pictures from the same run where 80% of the track is off the sidewalks and lanes I have used. One bit shown in the picture is where I ran there and back on the same side walk so E3 can't even be consistent with itself...

I also hike a lot in the mointains and this margin of error is dangerous!!!

  • Same here! Mine is in the middle of the road. My Samsung Galaxy watch is even more accurate then my Enduro.

Have been starting to get som doubts with my first Garmin watch

  • Also line doesn't look like it polls too often so mayve that is the issue...

  • Multiband seem to be even worse. This should be a straight line on the sidewalk not zigzag in the middle of the street, and I actually walked so plenty of time for gps fix. What is going on? My previous Instincts were amazing to the pointI could tell where I took a piss on my hike...

  • Map on the watch is wrong during activity too. Showing I'm in the building while I'm on the footpath. This is in the highest multiband mode.

  • Don't think it's so important if it just differs a little bit. When it becomes problematic is when travelled distance is wrong.

Sometimes the GPS is correct, but it's the map that's just not calibrated to the real world.

  • I was forced to continue my hike in the mointains in the dark, 10-20 yards can make a big difference.

  • Even my Suunto that have much better accuracy don't show exactly how and where I have travelled. It's jumps between 0-5 meter depending on where I go.

But I hear you! I hope future update will give the watch a little better accuracy

  • Yeah not the wnd of the world but my other "lesser" garmins were very accurate so it got my expectations high...

  • Maybe the UK government has reduced the GPS  accuracy for security reasons ... Joy

Irony aside, with the Auto GPS setting the accuracy consistently varies +/- 1m on mountain trails for me, which is IMHO excellent.

I don't get why anyone would need better than +/- 5m accuracy for anything other than military or high-end nautical applications Shrug tone2

  • Even my Suunto that have much better accuracy don't show exactly how and where I have travelled. It's jumps between 0-5 meter depending on where I go.

How long does your Suunto last without charging? If the higher accuracy is really ultimately needed for some reason other than the obsession with otherwise useless perfect track, then you can enable the option All Sats + Multiband, but then do not complain about higher power consumption. You cannot have all in the same time.

All those pictures posted till now are well within the claimed accuracy of Garmin watches, which is +/- 15m 95% of the time (GPS Accuracy | Garmin Customer Support).
