Are you happy with e3?

Hi guys, i have enduro 2 for almost 2 years and pretty happy with it but thinking about upgrading to enduro 3, is it worth it? The doubt is in its appearance, to some point it looks a little bit cheaper cause less titan in it and plastic back ;))

Thank you for your feedback

  • Hi. I've been a happy Fenix customer from 3(HR) to 7X Solar. As I didn't need the two major things that makes the F8 stand out from the E3, I went with the E3.

I'm satisfied with my choice. Of course there are always "baby issues" when you get the new models, but we all know that Garmin fix these things along the way (and once in a while breaks smth). :-)   But Yes. For me I think it was the right decision.

  • Coming from a Fenix 6pro, I'm totally happy with the E3 - everything works as expected and the batterylife is a game changer for me.

  • LOOK AT THE FENIX 3, THERE'S THE SAME PLASTIC, AND THEY'RE STILL IN USE AND RELEVANT ON THE SECONDARY MARKET.

  • True but its more in my head about changing more metal to less metal ;))

  • Thank you for this reply, strange that garmin managed to worse this feature with maps... as for me i used my samsumg for maps but i used to hike only not trailrunning ;))

  • I'm brand new to Garmin and I'm excited to say that I finally left fitbit behind.  I was dedicated to them because my wife and I enjoyed comparing stats and I have been loyal,  but as I evaluated myself I had to take a long hard look and admit that I'm more of a elite athlete in terms of my past and genetics.  over the last year I've been really wanting to move to Garmin so I set out to do TONS of research on the watches and came to the conclusion from all the reviews that the Enduro 3 was the best watch and the best value for me.

Here are the things that I love.   I feel like Garmin does a great job understanding my body and energy and I feel like the body battery and sleep stress is very accurate and it really helps me not over train which I have a tendency to do.  I've followed the watch as closely as I can and I feel like I now feel better and have way more energy.

I love the size,  and I'm also happy that I don't have an amoled screen because I agree with what others say,  it looks like a smartphone on your wrist and honestly it's not great in bright sun and that is where I spend most of my time using it.    To me,  the battery life is tons better than the Fenix,  and I know this because my buddy has the fexnix 8 and he now regrets it seeing how much of a workhorse the Enduro 3 is.

I actually love the green button guard and think it looks cool,  but then again I'm from the 80's and love bright neon colors still :)   I love how easy it is to change the bands and the comfort of a watch this size is unbelievable...

I feel like the heart rate monitor is way more accurate than fitbit,  I also LOVE being able to use my heart rate strap for my MTB,  Cycling,  Hiking and Running....

It's been such an amazing experience for me to be able to see the big screen in the sun and shade,  it looks incredible and I'm in love with my first MIP.

A couple of the things I don't like I'm hopeful Garmin may fix.  I think the navigation as it sits right now is way too clunky.  Why does Garmin give you an option on the watch to select map and then create a round trip but always gives a message "can't find roads because of the routetable"?    BUT,  when I select an activity first the watch then will create a route for me...   Also,  the other day the watch got me lost because I choose to do a round trip route in reverse and all the turn by turn prompts and arrows went away.  I got lost and was frustrated that my 900 watch didn't do better..

If Garmin is listening I would suggest that you make this navigational experience more simple and less broken.  If the watch can tell me my heart rate in my headphones whenever I want why can't it tell me things like "in 200 feet turn right"???    I feel like Garmin should put in an idiot proof implementation of voice turn by turn for anytime we choose navigate!!   People whom are new to the watch certainly have a hard time with understanding what should be turned on or off to make that work because we buy into the brand just expecting that part to work...  Maybe they should have it work by default and make it more difficult to turn off?

There are some big bugs in my opinion or things that make me scratch my head,  but I do know that the watch is new and they will fix all this stuff in due time.   Thanks Garmin for listening and bringing this watch to where it belongs I'm taking my fitness to higher levels.

  • IMO? no, it`s not worth it.

I have both, changes "in plus" are minimal, the one significant is battery life, i think +3 days in my usage pattern (from 7 to 10).

no "blue mist" on display (`cause sapphire is pure sapphire now, without solar coating) is also noticeable.

There are annoying bugs (especially map / navigation related) and glitches, sluggish UI, no backup-and-restore.

I`ve bought it because i like to have new sports-tech gadgets but in terms of "is it worth to spend 1K$ and and go from fenix7 / enduro2 series?" - IMHO: no, it`s not.

Ah, Enduro3 is bit lighter than 2. Weight says "7g" but i feel the difference (mostly while running / crawl swimming).

  • Great, thank u, and as well in one youtube review they compared torches in e2 and e3 and looks like in e3 its not as bright as in e2, both white and red light, have you noticed it? For me its very relevant, i used torch every day and thats was the reason to buy e2 instead of 7x, garmin told in e2 the torch is brighter))
