GPS Accuracy Issues on Enduro 3

Hi,

I've encountered an issue with the GPS accuracy on my Enduro 3 compared to the Garmin 7X Sapphire Solar. I have it set to record every second and use multi-band and all available satellites, but the recorded track is still less accurate than expected. I compared the track with another device (Garmin 7X Sapphire Solar), and the difference is noticeable. I'm not aware of any other settings that could improve GPS accuracy. The settings on both watches are the same.

Another question: Before the update, I liked the bold font in active mode. Now, it seems less prominent. Changing the font size in the system doesn’t help. Does anyone know how to revert the font back to the original bold style during activities?

One more thing, why doesn't the Enduro 3 have the option to back up and restore settings? Ideally, I would like to transfer the data field configuration from another watch, specifically from the Fenix 7X to the Enduro 3. Does anyone know if it’s possible to transfer data field settings between different Garmin watches?

The GPS inaccuracy occurs across the entire route, not just in a specific section. I can send GPX files for comparison and check the extent of the discrepancies. Is there anything you can do to resolve this?

Thank you for your help.

  • Yes , but I used different maps, but checked for a bit the stock garmin maps. I just cannot download GPX for the activities to put them on a pc the check the custom map. Auto select is still awful but all + multi is ok-Ish I want to download the gpx and analyse is on the local map I’ve used. But pretty good over all, but  there are issues if you don’t walk straight it’s not the best. I’ll do a whole post with details but lazy now

  • Which maps do you use? Thanks

  • Local map to my country, pretty accurate. Kade.si

  • I bought the Enduro 3 close to the release date and found the GPS to be much more inaccurate (like many on here) than my Epix Pro, so I returned it. At the time I tried every setting on multiple runs and the tracks were generally pretty poor in comparison, I’m not new to Garmin but am to the new UI. I also recall it was very slow to acquire GPS signal too.

However I kept hearing that many didn’t seem to have an issue with the GPS and thought maybe I had a defective watch so I bought another Enduro3 this week and the long and short of it is this seems like a different watch!!!

I’ve only had it a few days but the runs and hikes I’ve done all seem very good now and just as accurate as older model (Epix Pro 2) in both the accuracy of the position on the maps and the tracks after when veiwed on Connect / Strava. I don’t know what’s changed apart from the software between the two. Tested in open mountains and under heavy tree cover.

I have the latest firmware, set the watch and activities to max accuracy, 1 sec recording, enabled 3D Speed / Distance etc. I have used both the standard Topo map on the watch and the Talky Toaster maps too, with everything working as expected.

I hope this helps and I will update the thread if the situation changes from my side

It’s nice to be back to a MIP screen too after a few years away from it.

  • I had 3x Enduro3 watches because of the advertising display - dead pixels and unfortunately each one was very inaccurate in GPS - you can easily see it during interval running, when the current pace is very inaccurate. The seller refunded the money, I bought the Fenix 8 51mm and again I have a completely accurate GPS and accurate current pace, which is very important for me during interval runs. I miss the battery life of the Enduro 3, but it was not worth the inaccurate GPS.

  • If you are still experiencing inaccurate GPS and poor current pace - contact technical support and the seller - they should be able to refund your permissions.

  • Yeah the  pace is laggy … btw I was in the mountains before few days and it wasn’t the best on best accuracy. I’m lazy to report , but I will and write here. I had problems with charging as well I have to return it but I’m in another country

  • Do you have an example like a picture of the dead pixels?

  • Faulty watches? My tracks are inaccurate in the urban areas (sometimes 10 metres), but good in other places.
