GPS Accuracy Issues on Enduro 3

Hi,

I've encountered an issue with the GPS accuracy on my Enduro 3 compared to the Garmin 7X Sapphire Solar. I have it set to record every second and use multi-band and all available satellites, but the recorded track is still less accurate than expected. I compared the track with another device (Garmin 7X Sapphire Solar), and the difference is noticeable. I'm not aware of any other settings that could improve GPS accuracy. The settings on both watches are the same.

Another question: Before the update, I liked the bold font in active mode. Now, it seems less prominent. Changing the font size in the system doesn’t help. Does anyone know how to revert the font back to the original bold style during activities?

One more thing, why doesn't the Enduro 3 have the option to back up and restore settings? Ideally, I would like to transfer the data field configuration from another watch, specifically from the Fenix 7X to the Enduro 3. Does anyone know if it’s possible to transfer data field settings between different Garmin watches?

The GPS inaccuracy occurs across the entire route, not just in a specific section. I can send GPX files for comparison and check the extent of the discrepancies. Is there anything you can do to resolve this?

Thank you for your help.

  • Even those options, which I tested are just not useful dk I tried all of them and it just not worth it.

Then request a refund, and buy a more accurate watch. You bought the wrong product for your needs.

  • Yeah maybe I will do this, but how the new version is worse than the old ?

  • I do not know whether it is. If you have both models, please do an activity with both of them worn on the same arm simultaneously, and post both tracks, so that we can see it.

  • Yes, they claim the same accuracy of  +/- 15m.

When I have dual-band GPS enabled on Fenix 7, I can almost always see which side of the road I am on and whether I am on a sidewalk next to the road or on the road. Typically the accuracy it is within 1-2 meters. For example here you can see me moving from a sidewalk on one side of the road to a sidewalk on another side of the road, and this accuracy is typical. This is a narrow 2 lane neighborhood road.

Examples of Enduro 3 GPS tracks posted above look more like what I've seen with Fenix 6 when I owned it. Fenix 7 is significantly more accurate. If Enduro 3 accuracy has regressed back to Fenix 6 level that means one of the two things - either the satellite auto-select select feature aggressively prioritizes the less accurate GPS only satellite mode to save the battery in expense of the accuracy or perhaps Garmin has switched to a different GNSS chipset. Either way, it is very concerning to me.

Also, smart recording has nothing to do with the GPS accuracy.

  • Also, smart recording has nothing to do with the GPS accuracy.

Indirectly it has, because at the Smart Recording, the recorded track is much more approximative, and there are considerably less track points recorded, and the accuracy when changing direction is influenced. You'd be right only if most of the track were just straight lines.

  • Fenix 7 is significantly more accurate

Ffs .. yeah the thing is your photo and what are you describing still more accurate than the best option on the Enduro 3

  • It is just not normal the old model to be way more accurate than the new gen new UI etcc....

  • It is just not normal the old model to be way more accurate than the new gen new UI etcc....

Do not compare apples and oranges. Compare Enduro 2 and Enduro 3, please.

  • Garmin claims “Improved user interface. Same GPS chipset and antenna design (multi-frequency, SATIQTm technology)” between Fenix 8 and Enduro 3.

We here genuinely, experience an issue. The person before us confirms with a photo the so much better accuracy and the person that posted with pictures. Someone said Fenix6 accuracy, why not comparing it with Fenix when Garmin claims that they have the same chipset.

Yeah you mentioned return it but that is not the point. There is an issue and you through Gaslighting us, are trying to convince us that our expectations are wrong not the product.

  • Of course, it's important to compare things within the same category, but when it comes to GPS accuracy, the Enduro 3 with multi-band support should really be on par with the Fenix 7. By utilizing multi-band GPS, the Enduro 3 should achieve the same, if not better, accuracy as the Fenix 7x. So if you see how the Fenix 7 accurately moves between the sidewalk and the road, you can expect that the Enduro 3 should provide equally precise location tracking, thanks to advanced GPS technology.

@trux: Your responses are becoming annoying. I don't understand why you interfere in all discussions about watches that you have no practical experience with. You express some of your theories that just don't make sense.
