It just takes few minutes to activate the ECG app in Europe by faking the location of your phone and then it works. No point in lowering yourself to an Apple Watch

As soon as they get the approval from the EU authorities. And if you ever had some personal experience with the EU bureaucracy…
Just be aware that you will be forced to live with the Multi-Factor Authentication for the rest of your life, once you activate it. If you want to avoid it, create a secondary GC account for testing ECG.
Please do tell more. Which multi-factor authentication? On watch or on app or somewhere else?
MFA for your Garmin account, that is used for all Garmin apps, for GC web, for this forum, and also for the general Garmin profile. Additionally, when MFA is enabled, you might be auto-signed-out much more frequently than without MFA, so having to use the SMS or email for confirming the login may become an annoying hurdle.
Unfortunately I can confirm this and also that this can’t be unselected/reverted later on, You will have to use it from that point on.
You should 2FA in any case, since it's you personal health data that you keep stored at Garmin's!
I understand that the reason the ECG app is not available in some countries is because Garmin needs approval from each jurisdiction.
To date , the app is not available in New Zealand.
Today I contacted Medsafe NZ, the division of the government’s ministry of health responsible for the approval of medical devices in NZ. They have categorically advised that Garmin watches ecg app does not require any approval. Their email address is [email protected]
so my question for Garmin is why is the ecg app not available for New Zealand?
