App Wheel? Not sure what you mean - I am not aware of any App Wheel on the Instinct. And all my screens have black baground, unless I am within a running activity - then they are all white. I did not test it, but possibly if you change the main face to the white background style, all other screens will inverse too.

I’m referring to when you press and hold the left CtRL button you get a “wheel” that has the Apps to select. I use these instead of the Widgets because they timeout. I want the Altimeter on all the time. And it has a White background. Trying to change it.

Are you sure you have Garmin Instinct and not another watch? On Instinct, on the main menu under the Ctrl button, there is no Altimeter, unless I have overseen that it it is configurable, and that you added it there. Altimeter, on the Instinct, is accesible through the long-press of the ABC button, and it is already black by default. It may be perhaps on some screens of activities, and in that case it would have inverted colors, but I do not think it is customizable. Though I may be wrong, of course.

Yes, I have the Garmin Instinct. I modified the Wheel on the CtRL menu to include the A,B,C. As, I like these as stand alone functions that don’t time out. Widgets time-out. Which is frustrating. Thanks for your reply.

OK, I see, I tried it. Yes, when you add it to the main menu, they have a white background, unlike when called by the ABC button. I indeed do not think it is configurable.

But what you can do instead, is customizing your main face, and adding the altimeter field there - like that it will stay always on, and it will be on black backround. However, I guess you already know it - telling it just for the case you did not see the option of customizing the main face.

Thanks for the help. I have my main screen set-up the way I want. I would think there is a way to change the App Color. Kind of frustrating. Seems like everything is so customizable. Just got the Garmin. Loving it so far.

Some time ago, there was a post (in this forum?) reporting a way of inverting the colors throughout the watch. That is: whites become black and vice-versa everywhere, in all screens (I think with no exceptions). I know it works because I used it to get white widgets. So you have this option of inverting everything and then changing the watch face to it's negative version. That way, you may be able to get black apps from the Controls and still maintain the very same watchface you like. If you do not find the trick (I think it involved repeated presses of the light button), I may try to find it again, if needed. Best of luck.
