I think you are aware that the watch crashes on swimming workouts, as many people have reported it. So the only question is, will you ever fix it?

no, testing on 12.20 software. i will write to engineer direct about this bug.
Today, 24:47.3 into my workout, at 925 m, my Garmin Instinct Solar went out of the activity to the main screen. Refused to start new pool swim activity, then proudly announced it's updated the firmware…
I swim 2-4 times a day, every day.
Had my watch since mid Dec '21.
My Garmin Instinct Solar seems to crash only in one of the swimming pools I use.

Today, 24:47.3 into my workout, at 925 m, my Garmin Instinct Solar went out of the activity to the main screen. Refused to start new pool swim activity, then proudly announced it's updated the firmware and something else to a new version. Kept failing to stay in the activity.
It was a 1h45min swim and it ruined my work out.
It's nice to see my two months old device is buggy.
It's the third time since 16th Dec 2021 it left my swimming activity.
My garmin instinct tactical solar crashes regularly during and when finishing a swim. It was bought new in 2020. It’s absolute of garbage and I wouldn’t wear another one if you gave it to me. To add to this I regularly paddle with a team and the gps is always off compared with solar and other garmin watches.
just want to report: swam on 31.01 and 07.02 with 16.5, no crashes during swimming

I think it is because the access to pool is based on barcode on the phone app and they force you to keep your personal things close to the pool and the watch connects and disconnects from the phone.
Today it crashed again 900m into the workout.
I switched battery saving mode on to cut off the connection with the phone. Started new swimming activity - it crashed again and was out of battery saving mode into normal power mode.
For me, the fix will be to try and remember to turn BT off on the phone prior to swimming.
I hope this helps.
Did you switch global battery saving mode or did you change the "Pool swim" profile? I also suspect bluetooth connection and I'm trying to change default profile behavior (by going into "Pool Swim Settings" -> "Power Mode" -> "Custom mode I've created"), but if you tried that and it crashed it doesn't make sense
Mine crashed today after pressing gps button on finishing session and saved anyway it. I had also phone connected to the watch while doing that. Will try next time to disconnect the phone.
I am sorry for the pool swim issues. Since this is an old thread that was resolved in an earlier software version, I am locking this thread.
However, since reports of the issue have come back around on the v16.00 and v16.50 software, please refer to this thread for updated information. I will be tracking this other thread.
