Pool crashes

Same problem with Garmin instinct solar surf, both in the pool and in open water ... I have no words. Fix the bug !!! Hoping it's not a hardware problem.

Crash rebooting aswell in the Gym workout activity.. I've been checking with Garmin support back and forth the issue but no resolution..

I can confirm that the watch crashes every time I do a pool swim. When can we expect a fix for this? What other information can we provide? Fit files?

Unfortunately I do not swim very often, so am not in a position to test it very often. However, on version 16.00 firmware, both my watch and my wife's crash on pool swims.

This has gone on for 2 years over multiple firmware versions... is it product recall time?

Did you tweak the data fields and options a lot aswell? For me in strength training it crashes considerably more frequent when it's autoscrolling with a 5 field data screen and vibrating each set for example. In default it seems hit or miss with at least a few short freezes.

Not really, I adjust the pool length if required, only have 1 data screen.

I just turned off lap key, kept auto rest, and no crash this morning after 2500 yards. 

I'm on 16.12 (Apac), for me it crashes only if I enable backlight gestures after sunset. with backlight off no crashes 

I take it back, last swim I had backlight gestures disabled but it crashed after 360 meters. 
Compared  to other time, I had my mobile in the swimming pool, can the crash be linked with bluetooth connection maybe?
