The watch keeps turning on to force test mode when I power on. Long press the on button also doesn't disable the force test mode. I'm using a Fenix 5.

Long pressing the power button should force shutdown the watch. You do have to hold it down for at least 15 seconds, maybe longer. After turning the watch on again, it should startup successfully, unless there is a stuck button.

I've tried numerous times but the watch keeps going into force test mode. Is there any other methods to try to restart it properly?
Is the watch not powering off? If it is powering off and you're powering on again and it goes to test mode, then this sounds like a stuck button to me. When powering on the watch and the down button is stuck, this will cause it to go to the diagnostic (test) mode.
From an earlier post...
That is the diagnostic menu. Typically, you would get there by holding the down button while the unit is powering on. My guess is your down button is stuck, so every time you turn on the watch it's going to the diagnostic menu. You can try releasing it by holding it under warm running tap water while pressing it several times.
Thanks for the help. I tried the warm running water and it did help to restart my watch properly now, thanks!
But the down button still seems de-pressed. Is there any way that i can release it fully? Rinse with more water?
Excellent post! Resolved my issue quickly. Thanks.
