- Watch rebooted with screen showing lots of data in tiny font. Did Master Reset and watch restarted with same screen with lots of tiny data? Solution? Or time for new watch?
What kind of data? Can you post a photo? Possibly you're in the diagnostic menu. This could inadvertently happen if you have a stuck button.
That is the diagnostic menu. Typically, you would get there by holding the down button while the unit is powering on. My guess is your down button is stuck, so every time you turn on the watch it's going to the diagnostic menu. You can try releasing it by holding it under warm running tap water while pressing it several times.
Thank you very much! That worked. It will give me a little more time out my old watch (no pun intended) but I’ll start looking for a new one.
The button is still stuck but at least I can use it as a “not so smart” watch!
Try to spray a silicone spray into the gap between button and housing and press several times. That helps to recover the performance of the button. I did such treatment for different buttons several times and it always helped.
Thank you for the suggestion. I found my silicone spray and prepared to give it a try. Before starting I noticed the watch is now completely dead. I sprayed it anyway and plugged it in to charge. Unfortunately, it may be time for a new Garmin watch.
