Fenix 5 with 14.1 update high battery drain

I updated my garmin fenix 5 with 14.10. I still have problems with high battery consumption.
Consume 1% per hour. With software 13.1 I had consumption of 5% per day. I tried to reinstall 13.1 but now it continues to consume a lot, always 24% a day. What can I do?
  • Unfortunately not. Only a 'we are working on it' and 'check for updates'. Which in my humble opinion is taking quite long now without any other communication. While Garmin seems extremely busy rolling out the new Fenix 6. I don't think Garmin realizes that his combinations of events is also causing a kind of irritation. Specially when Garmin brags about battery life on the new 6. C'mon Garmin...

How is the EPO updated? I write "expired" .. All recent updates are installed, except betaGPS.

I definitely don’t want f6, if in 1 year it will result in similar problems .. I hope the final f5 will be stable firmware.

By the way, how much more f5 support will be?

  • With bluetooth 1% hour. Without bluetooth 0,3 per hour

  • With v14.1 i got high battery drain. I put v13.30 with upgrade to v13.51 beta. I used him 2 weeks and battery was fine 0.2-0.5% per hr. But today i got high battery drain, after use watch with walk activity. I try to stop/start sensor, acticity tracker, watchfaces and shutdown but not help. After 3-4 hours problem dissapear alone.
    4 days battery hiostory
     1d - 14% - 13200 steps, cycling 38 minutes (gps off) (sensor on)
    2d - 16% - 1550 steps, no activity (gps off)
    3d - 8% - 2800steps, 55min strength activity (gps off) with ant+ chest strap
    4d - 20% - 15000 steps, 50min walk activity (gpsoff) (sensor on)
    This is with v13.51beta

  • I had updated watch to 14.10 and nothing changed battery life was great. It was only when i got the sensor hub update that battery life dropped.

When I rolled back 14.10 to 13.51, the charge became normal, but sometimes "activity tracking" gave an error, and then a strong discharge followed. I think this is due to the sensor hub v6.90 ..

I stopped fighting this and updated to 14.10. "activity tracking" was no longer mistaken.

I charged f5 to 100% on Sunday at 11.00. Daily GPS activity from 30 to 60 minutes, ohr turned on, "activity" turned on, bluetooth only when synchronized daily, standard watchface. The discharge was approximately 20% per day .. But still a little less .. 15% was on Saturday at 18.00 ..

I decided to try the advice of our friend, who discharged at 0% and charged up to 100%. I was able to discharge 15% in 4 hours using GPS. At 10 p.m. on Saturday, I setSmileyhe watch to charge. At 2.00 (do not ask me why Smiley) I took off the charge - 100%.

With the same settings, I woke up at 8.00 and the charge was 98% .. Without changing anything, I went about my business. And now the clock is 18.52 and the battery shows 95% .. I think it helped a lRelaxedttle .. I’ll try again to discharge at 0% one more time .. Or maybe not .. I hope that with my GPS activity they will last 10-12 days. Then I will stay calm. Relaxed

Well .. Yesterday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., a strange 1% battery discharge was observed (from 95% to 93%) per hour .. But somehow he plays with it .. Because at 6 a.m. the next morning (10 hours have passed) 90 % (in the beginning it was 91%, but at 6.00 it became 90%). GPS 30 minutes took 2% .. Moreover, the charge after synchronization was down to 87% .. I think GPS took 3% all the same ..

Well, the most interesting thing for the morning: Garmin answered me in the mail!

    "Hi ...,

My sincere apologies for the battery drain differences. I have added you to a case for this specific issue. We will email you directly once we have more information.

    Kind regards,

    Product support"

  • Mine is really variable too on this software (14.10), from one charge 5% to 100% I got 10 days with GPS use of 4 - 5 hours.

Charged from 20% to 100% and only got e days with less GPS.

Like you I give up rolling back and await an update from Garmin, having had a ticket in since it started. Good to know they are aware and working on it though. Hopefully a fix is incoming soon.

Same issue since the update to 14.10, battery drops at least 5 times faster than before.

  • I rolled back to 13.51 beta.  It resolved the battery issue but now I'm not able to configure any of the ConnectIQ watch faces.  When I change any of the watch settings in the Garmin app watchface settings are not saved.  Anyone else having this issue?
