Is there going to be mini 3? Or is garmin ending this product line and focus just on messenger style gear? I,m curious because for me the mini is more standalone device, not depending on having smartphone with me.

…I’d like to see something like an Etrex size with inreach features, something that is more useful for navigation than the mini series but still smaller than the 66/67 size and lighter too.
If you go in the maps section at the bottom and click + topo is one of the options, at this price it would be insane not to support it, uk price is equivalent $560 for pro version!
Dissapointed no solar, of all garmin stuff this should have it imo, otherwise pretty good, though lack of ais/dsc is also dissapointing esp on water or if you dive
lack of ais/dsc
To be fair, Garmin did never add this to an iR device, or?
Does the new inreach 3 have access to the connect iq store for additional apps?
Haven´t read about that/not mentioned at the Garmin homepage for M3 / M3+.
No they didn't but could it not?
No idea, if that all would be compatible with gps/irdidium and I think that would make the devices bigger and more expensive...Garmin only sells ais/vhf components for installation in boats, nothing mobile.
No they didnt, but antenna size aside, I dont see why it couldn't esp on water where there are likely people closer to help depending on where you are. The ic board of nautilus lifeline is tiny compared to device size
Bt may be a way round this to link to a vhs transmitter/reciever. Is there any access to garmin iq app store on the mini 3?
Forgive the reposting, it doubled up and i couldn't edit.
Ill ask garmin to see if ais data can at least be recieved via satellite, even if vhf ais/dsc cant be used.
ic board of nautilus lifelin
Ah yes, looks somehow like the Garmin Mini 3 dive case...
Colour, form factor reminds me of nautilus.
Chat is so quick with a new product launch!
No garmin iq connection
No ais/solar or bt connection to get it
No solar power
Still great product, lots of options to consider now.
Btw: mini with a dive case. If one reach the surface, the fingers may be cold, there may be waves...and the Garmin doesn´t float...(ok, better than nothing in case of an emergency). But he Natilus seems to be the better device for water for now.
Maybe you should suggest this to Garmin for adding it.
Nautilus is really useful as diver as it lets others local to you know youre there but like plb's not the nature of issue.
Thats why inreach is so useful, you can have a conversation.
Need to think about it, inreach 2 maybe a simpler option ill have to compare, topo maps are available through £4.99 monthly annual subscription!
You should be able to activate it through the MK watch
