Is there going to be mini 3? Or is garmin ending this product line and focus just on messenger style gear? I,m curious because for me the mini is more standalone device, not depending on having smartphone with me.

…I’d like to see something like an Etrex size with inreach features, something that is more useful for navigation than the mini series but still smaller than the 66/67 size and lighter too.
The pro version looks good but no marine version mentioned so case case will be bigger, could it not easily have a vhf antenna in there for ais and dsc, maybe even meshtastic for direct comms on land, looking forward to the details
According to available pics on reddit, the Mini 3 isn´t much bigger as the Mini 1 and has only 25g more weight. imgur.com/.../inreach-mini-3-weight-size-UKMqKlC (link taken from a link available at reddit)
There are rumors about Topo maps (at garminrumors and The5K runner, but still no pics with maps available, so I think...).
That's good news. Now the last question is how the Inreach 3 battery performance compares to that of the Mini 2.
Will it even work out of the box? That’s what I’m wondering. Maybe in a year but I highly doubt for this Xmas. I mean it’s just getting worse every product.
Maybe Garmin will pleasantly surprise us sometime? It has to happen eventually... Okay, who still believes in Santa Claus...? But hope dies last (every time).

So not much more size/weight as the Mini 2!
Thanks, great info!
Battery Specifications for the inReach MIni and inReach Mini 2: 1 battery, 1 cell, 1250 mAh at 3.6V

No mention of solar charging, but there is a dive case
And also no Topo maps mentioned. Specs only mention a basemap- perhaps that means only the not very useful Garmin world basemap or even a blanc map page on the display...?
