With software version 8.08 and 9.05 on GPSMAP H1: When the device is powered on, removing or inserting a SD card Topo France Pro V7 causes the message "changing map" to be displayed continuously. Similar behavior occurs with a 128GB Samsung card loaded with other Topo maps. In all cases, the device can only be powered off by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds.

    Is the SD card with the Topo France Pro V7 map an official Garmin SD card? If so I would contact Garmin support because you can expect official Garmin products to be compatible with each other.

    As for SD cards you purchased yourself and where you put 3rd party maps on, the H1 is indeed very picky with cards. Some won't work at all, some work only when reinserting them after the unit has been powered on. See this topic for more reports.

    As general advice, it's best to format SD cards with the official SD Memory Card Formatter so that they have the correct file system and cluster size.

    My SD card Topo France Pro V7 is an official Garmin product. Note that this card and Samsung 128GB have no problem when they are introducted in device before powered on. Problems are only when device is already powered on, and since version 8.08 (no problem with 7.07).

    Let's take a look into this situation for you. Which microSD memory cards and sizes have you tried? Is the card recognized by the computer when inserted in the GPSMAP H1? Has the card been formatted? If so, which format? Does the message "changing map" eventually disappear from the display? Do you have other maps loaded to the microSD card? If so, which other maps do you have loaded?
