Firmware 23.20

The problem has not been solved. Everything is set correctly, but I see that the route through the course is not displayed in Garmin Connect and on Strava. Pleas e give the work arround to 

 solve the  problem. The only thing I see is the score card.

  • First time I had the issue, I restarted the watch and it was fine.
    Then it happen again and I noticed the "Record activity" tag was OFF for totally unknown reason.

    I suppose that somehow the "Record activity" tag is somewhat "unstable" and would suggest to:

    - turn "Record Activity" OFF and restart the watch
    - turn "Record Activity" back ON and restart the watch again

    For good measure, you can also delete all the Fit file from the activity folder as suggested earlier by Roadrunner21

    Really appreciate your efforts to continue to assist - I followed your instructions when you last posted them without success, but i thought i would try again, with a slight change. Todays round has correctly recorded - i hope this isn't a one off, as was the case last time.....

    My slight change was to delete the activities on the watch - not through the computer. On the watch under settings, system, reset there is an option to 'delete all activities' - i have done that. Fingers crossed it keeps working ..... 

  • For me It does not matter whether you delete the activities (fit files) via the PC or via the watch. Seem result: no activities recorded.

  • S70 only recording golf but not additional activity. Watch has 'record activity' set. I see the golf activity on Garmin Connect but not the activity (IE the map I've walked etc), which means it doesn't upload to Strava. Is there a fix to this please? Thank you.

  • Seems like this behavior happened after FW23.20 update.

    The matter is being discussed in this thread, with some suggestions for fix that happen to sometime only be temporary:

  • I deleted all the files on the watch, cycled the "record activity” off and on, restarted the watch, made sure “record” was still on. 
    Played a round yesterday and it didn’t record the activity. 

  • I have contacted Garmin support in the Netherlands. They responded quickly and efficiently. Indicated that removing fit. files makes no sense. They recommended a full reset. Make first a backup. So all data will be erased and settings will be restored. I did that. Walked a 18 holes round today. Both the route and the scores were well recorded. Tomorrow we'll see if the next round also works.

  • After making sure my backup was current, I did a full reset yesterday. 
    Played a round of golf today and the activity was recorded correctly. 
    I’ll report again after my next round. Fingers crossed…

  • My second round was also successfully recorded. I think a full reset might solve the problem.

  • My second round in a row has recorded properly. Seems the full reset has fixed this problem for me. Thanks everyone!
