Firmware 23.20

The problem has not been solved. Everything is set correctly, but I see that the route through the course is not displayed in Garmin Connect and on Strava. Pleas e give the work arround to

solve the  problem. The only thing I see is the score card.

  • Third round again no activity recorded. Garmin support has received log files from me. They are looking for a solution.

  • Yep. I just finished my third round since reset and no activity recorded. My wife is still getting all her activity recorded. I have the 47mm S70 and she has the 42mm S70. Don’t know if that would make any difference.

  • Garmin support: "We are currently investigating an issue with symptoms similar to what you are reporting. At this time, we are gathering information for our engineering team while they try to find the cause of the issue so we can get a fix in place.".

I see that the watch has a .fit file saved for multisport. Importing into Garmin Connect gives an error message. That's correct because the file has no data (coordinates, heart rate, etc.).  My watch showes the total time and walking distance. Weird. This .fit file cannot be repaired.

  • I’ve also raised this with Garmin support. After giving them screenshots of my info, I’ve received the following…

“There is an engineering ticket currently open for this issue and our engineers are investigating the cause to find a solution for this issue.“

  • Garmin CP

Hopefully they will find a solution soon!

Are they close to a fix?

Have you considered a rollback ability. Ie download and install the previous firmware.  Problems seem to be very common after software updates..... Do you have a Beta program? If no, possibly you should, if yes perhaps it should be enlarged.

Sorry to sound like a broken record. The watch is already in my view near perfect, yet software updates are regular. Can you move the watch 'engineers' (after solving this issue! ) to the golf application - it is the thing that needs serious work.....

  • Garmin support emailed me that a firmware update will be rolled out in Q1 2026 that will hopefully solve the problem.

GA29's temporary solution seems a good plan to me.

  • Answer Garmin Support:

    * firmware update in Q1 2025: exact date unknown

    * back to previous firmware not possible

    * other workarounds not possible

  • New system software is now being rolled out. I'm wondering if this will solve the problem.

  • And what it might break....
Thinking about waiting a couple weeks before udating.
