CT1 problems

My CT1 tags have issues. I had no problems with the CT10 tags. But the CT1's are a different story.

I have had no problems with my S70 watch until it touched a CT1 tag.

Now the watch freezes mid round, the screen jumps around, the yardages are club selections are no longer accurate and the watch jumps between apps. I was teeing off the other day and the find my phone feature activated mid swing.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the CT1's?

  • I was using the CT1 tags with the S70 watch and everything was working well until I hit the 8th green, I tapped the putter and a blue triangle appeared and the watch restarted, I hit to resume round and it restarted the 8th hole, I manually recorded the score and set the watch to the 9th hole and resumed play.  I lost all he shot tracker for the first 8 holes, the score was still tracked but not the shot tracking info for the 1 through 8 holes.  This was my first time using the CT1 tags and the 3rd time using the watch.  I checked and I have the latest software download 20.24, I am using an iPhone.  I really like this feature as it accurately tracked the 9 to 18 holes.  I like that It tracks every putt and chip and gives you your distance for ever shot visible on the watch after each shot.

  • I found this workaround today too. Froze and tapped my putter and the screen became responsive again. Happened twice and resolved it twice. there's a bug in the software somewhere.

  • Used a new S70 and CT1 tags this weekend - complete disarray. Every club seemed to be recognised as 2 clubs weaker than the one I tapped (eg tap 7 iron and it would say 9 iron).  When I'd go into manage tags to try to fix it it would say the tag was the club it should be but the next time I'd use it the same thing would happen. Spent more time fiddling with watch than playing. Total mess

  • If you check the underside of the CT-1 sensor, you will see a specific pre-set club printed. I recommend confirming what club type is printed on the bottom of the sensor, after removing the tag from the club grip on your 7-iron. Then open Golf Settings on your watch > Open the "Club Tracking" section  > Select Approach CT-1 > Manage Tags > Tap the sensor that was attached to your 7-iron and double-check to confirm the sensor assignment showing in the menu. Then remove the sensor tied to your 9 iron and tap to confirm what that sensor is showing tied to.

Then start a round of golf (being located at course not required, do this where you are conveniently located or from home) and skip locating satellites > Select a course from the list > Scoring prompt > Tee box > Once the S70 is displaying the distances on the first hole, tap the 7 iron sensor squarely onto the screen and see what club shows from there. If you are still seeing the 7 iron sensor get mistakenly identified by the watch...end the round of golf > Open Golf Settings > Club Tracking > Approach CT-1 > Manage Tags > Tap the 3 dots without tapping a sensor on the screen > See the list of sensors showing to confirm your full list of clubs is showing displayed > Tap on the sensor in the list showing 9-iron > Tap the remove option > Then tap on the 7 iron showing in the list > Select Remove.

Then go back to the screen showing "Scan a tag to view its assigned club" Then confirm the sensor showing "9i" printed on the back of it and tap on the face > Assign to 9i and tap the green checkmark. Then tap the sensor that shows "7i" printed on the back of it > Then confirm with the green checkmark to assign the tag to the 7i. There should no longer be a mix up at this point going forward.
