CT10 Sensors / S62 unassigning 2 sensors after every round (Could be related to the new Golf club choices?)

Hi All - I have been using the CT10 sensors for the last 2 golf seasons and have had no problems with them. I set up a new set of clubs and while most of them are still 100% fine, I have found that starting the last 3 rounds brings up a notice that there is an "unassigned sensor". I am able to pair it again through the watch (prior to starting a round), works fine during the round, and then it happens again the next time.

The strange thing is, I only noticed this happening after the Garmin Golf update that added all of the additional clubs. For example, I had my 7w set up as a 5w prior (and never had an issue with it when set up this way). It's only unassigning some of the NEW clubs that were just added to the pick list, none of the standard ones that were there in the past.

I also added a Cleveland 42 chipping club last week, and noticed upon setting it up as one of the 9hybrid clubs (which I believe is also new), that it showed 2 unassigned clubs yesterday. I fully removed the clubs and sensors, rebuilt the clubs (and created the chipping club back down to a lob wedge), so we will see if it happens again.

The other issue that seems to stick out is that the newly updated clubs (7wood, for example) do not show up in the same order as they should in the watch. The 7wood is listed first, above the driver, which makes me think that I fixed the chipping club by making it a lob wedge, but the 7 wood seems still off.

Anyone else having this issue with some of the new clubs?

(Side note, the batteries are new, they connect perfectly fine once paired, and they work perfectly fine on the course).

  • Thanks Cody. One thing that came up a few times when the new clubs were introduced was a hope across a couple of the forums that an APPROACH WEDGE would be added as well. Would this be something you could pass along, as I know a lot of folks are unable to log their AW properly (myself included). Just figured I would flag this up while the clubs are being worked on as well. Thank you.

  • Checking in on this - I noticed that there is a rollout occurring of 4.30 which I seem to have, but I am still a month or so out from getting out to play. Has anyone updated and confirmed issues have been fixed with unassigned clubs related to the CT10 sensors? Or does this only fix how it's listed in the watch, list wise?

  • My 7 wood on my watch is still after my lob wedge after update, so would not be too optimistic.

  • That is a bummer - the last time this all went terribly wrong was with a big update to the smartphone app, which I have not noticed an update to for a while. Hopefully we can get some specific updates soon from the garmin team.

  • Hi again.

Found it strange that a sw update for this issue only should not work.

So tried again, this time in a "better" way.

Here is how to do it:

Install the sw update on Your watch using Garmin Express.

Go to my bag in the Garmin Golf app and delete the club You already have (7 wood or 5 wood or whatever You have used).

Synchronize the watch in Garmin Golf app (click on watch ikon and then synchronize).

Go back to my bag and add the club, in my case 7 wood.

    Synchronize to the watch again.

Should work now. At least my 7 wood came after 5 wood in the watch club statistics.

All ststistics are lost however when You delete the club in my bag, so now I have to wait for summer again :)

  • Thank you for confirming, and glad the update is now working for you.

  • With the watch order seemingly fixed at this point, has anyone else been able to confirm the issue with sensors being unassigned after a round on the new clubs has also been fixed? I won't be able to test for another few weeks due to weather here, so hoping someone else can confirm.

  • The new update resolved the issue of the new updated club types not appearing in the list. Once the S62 is updated to version, users will need to sync their watch through the Garmin Golf app, or through Garmin Express so the golf club list refreshes the update to the club list.

More info on the recent update available on post Approach S62 System Software 4.30

  • Right, but I was asking about the unassigned sensor issue that was the main issue of the post I created. The order showing in the watch, which seems to be fixed at this point, was just a secondary issue I noticed after doing testing (and others confirming who do not use CT10 sensors).

Can you confirm that the issue where the CT10 sensors that are assigned to one of the 'new' clubs added has also been fixed with this update?

  • If the club sensors list in the Golf Settings menu on the S62 is showing an un-assigned sensor, the user must tap on it from the list and select the option to remove the sensor.

Once the un-assigned sensor from the list has been removed, the alert that pops up when starting a round stating that some sensors are un-assigned will not longer appear.

Check the Golf Bag section of the Garmin Golf app to verify all of the clubs showing in the list are complete, and that the amount of clubs correspond to the clubs in your bag with sensors attached. Then sync the watch, and from the Garmin Devices menu tapping the circular arrows button next to your watch in the device list.
