As of September 19th, 2023:
This would also involve GSPro, and not only Garmin...as we cannot simply make something compatibility from just our side.

GSPro is currently is not officially offered as a compatible platform for use with the Approach R10.
We are currently looking further into users wanting support for the Approach R10 and GSPro as a compatible…
Why when it works well without?
I use the direct to Bluetooth connection. It works well when it finally connects....I just have to boot and reboot my Bluetooth to get it connected. It's mainly just annoying.
Strange.
I use Win11, and although it was a bit hassle to find out how to pair the unit (You need to use advanced settings), I never hsd any issues since.
Pls note that the R10 unit does not automatically connect to Your PC, it will connect to the R10 connector program.
So here is what I do:
- start the Pc
- Power on the R10 unit. All mobile devices bluetooth to off. The R10 should flash blue.
- Start the R10 connector progrsm and verify in the dialogue box that launch device is connected.
- Start GS Pro
That's it.
For me it doesent matter if i start the connector program before powering on the R10 unit.
Connects every time, stays connected during a session and is superfast.
Next for me will be putting integration.
Hello
just got a great deal on a gaming laptop. Any other tips for avoiding the frustration others have had.
cant wait to play, we still have courses open in southern Alberta but why golf in the cold when I can play at home
Not sure what frustrations others have had.
Since using GSPro I have had no issues at all.
There are some things I'missing in GSPro as well like speed in mph and distance in meters, storing /export of data after a round, but I would not be too surprised if features are added on a more regular basis than Garmin Golf.
For me the connection between R10 and GSPro has been working flawless, just by starting up the connector, distances appears ok, and don't think I've had a single missed shot.
So in general my frustrations have ended.
I would really love to have integrated GSPpro access for my R10
Not sure why You would love that as the open API solution works flawlessly.
Don't fix anything that is not broken, and I would be really worried if the Garmin sw engineers start to mess with the connection.
If they can make it equally good as it is today, fine. But i'm not sure how they can improve it. The connection is fast, almost immidiate, works every time, and I can even putt in GSPro using the same connector. Also speed training without ball is possible. Can't say the same of the R10 to Garmin Golf connection.
Please add me to the list of users that would like GSPro option for the R10
Also include me as well for wanting GS Pro to be officially supported by the Garmin R10.
Is there any place it is possible to download/try the s/w before buying?
Shots NOT recording in GSPro using Garmin R10 and the Connector from GitHub? It was working flawlessly and then all of sudden I am it just quit working for some reason and I have tried everything. The connector shows the shot data but nothing is getting recorded on GSPro and I have not changed anything in my environment. I did remove the device from Bluetooth on my laptop and re-paired it, but still the shots are NOT transferring to GSPro? I think the problem is I am getting a MICROSOFT .NET FRAMEWORK EXCEPTION ERROR and have NO idea how to fix this? What I have discovered is when this Microsoft error screen appears and I hit "CONTINUE" on the error dialogue, then END my GSPro session, and restart the GSPro session, it seems to begin recording shots in GSPro. Very annoying to have to do this so if anyone has a fix for this, please let me know?
