New R10 is Not Reading at All (New System Software Available - See Update)

I just received my R10 and it will not register any shots.  I used Garmin Express to make sure it was updated. I deleted the Garmin app on my IOS device and reinstalled it.  My setup is just as it is suppose to be according to the instructions.  It still will not register a shot. 

I installed the E6 software and tried a practice session there.  It connects and says “ready”.  Once I hit it says “calculating”.  It then says “Error! Check if device is connected”. Then it connects again and says “Ready”. 

I have contacted support and they are looking into it.  

Does anyone have a similar issue or a suggestion?

  • It would be nice to have a Garmin Rep add to this conversation or give any updates.  We are just sitting her in the dark after spending our money wondering what is happening.  

  • Yeah annoying that most people are off work and can’t use the device over the break 

  • Same issue for me here. Powers up fine, paired successfully with my android phone, light is green, but then blinks white after one swing.

    Received mine yesterday and was told via chat they're working on a fix.

    Sure we're disappointed, but let's not forget we're all human. 

    Garmin will make it right. Not the end of the world... we're all fortunate to be alive, swinging our clubs, and spending $600 on a nice little toy.

  • Same here, got mine yesterday with the exact same issue. Serial starts with a 6PN, wondering if it's a specific batch of hardware that is affected.

  • If you get the error connecting to server after removing from the app in IOS. Remove it from the app and then from the bluetooth devices. Then try again the pairing

    I just deleted the app, deleted the R10 from my phone, and tried to reset everything. I then downloaded the app again and paired my phone, but no help. Still having the same problem. No shot data if I take a backswing. If I start with the club already in the top of my swing and then swing it registers. I was so excited to get this as I have time off of work, and the thing doesn’t even work. I guess I will return it and buy a different manufacturer. This is ridiculous and no news or updates on when it might be fixed. Unacceptable. 

  • Exact same issue, sees my swing, but when trying to send data to the app, it looks like it just reboots. Xmas paper weight...

  • Hi All, Spoke with a local Garmin rep yesterday. Very helpful. Told me that by the looks of the ticket in the Garmin system that they had a team working diligently on the problem. I asked if they had a time frame for a fix. I was told nothing showing at the moment so could be some time away or it could be tomorrow. The rep was really good about it and said if i wanted to return the product I would need to send a proof of purchase and they would contact the store so they can arrange the return. Looks like the product has been released too early in my mind. Has massive potential. I will return this unit and wait to see if and when they fix it.

    tried it with range balls, new balls and old balls. Even got some colored ones just to make sure. Updated to the latest version and setup as described.

  • I received mine just a couple of days ago and is pairing fine but just won't register a single shot... very frustrating. Tried on both Android and iOS but same issue on both systems.
