I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

The accuracy statement outlined on the Garmin site here Accuracy of Approach R10 Radar outlines the accuracy for radar following standard deviation true for the Approach R10. The algorithm derived metrics…
I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
Same here - on most of my shots on the R10 I am 1-2 clubs short compared to my real golf distances. I believe we are many experiencing this - do we have anyone from Garmin here who can report at ticket…
My r10 also works excellent with the GSPro software, but where do you go to find people for online play?!
Having same issued, updated apps and firmware to all the latest versions before using and calibrated.
Driver should be around 250-260 but max is around 220. reading a 91 club speed and 132 ball speed but only 204 carry 220 distance. The recorded numbers seem about right but the distance calculation seem short. All the other numbers were typical spin 3300 with driver.
This was with the garmin driving range app.
Setup is concrete patio then about 12ft to the outdoor net. I haven't tried covering the concrete between the unit and mat, is there an ideal material to use?
If your club head speed is 91mph then 204 carry sounds reasonable.
Yes, wouldn't you need club head speed around 110 for that carry
It's a software issue within the Garmin app. The Awesome Golf numbers are pretty spot on with 3-5 firmness on the rollout. Shouldn't have to spend an extra $350 to get accurate numbers but at least its a widespread issue that will hopefully get resolved sooner than later. I'm 20-30 yards short like everyone else.
That's good to know, cheers. Hopefully they will sort it out sharpish to actually make the device useable, although it appears to have been a known issue since release last summer. Fingers crossed.
I'm dreading the day when my 14 day awesome golf trial ends. It's crazy how obviously off the garmin app is
There's an R10 Facebook group (not Garmin run) - hundreds of users there getting the correct numbers from the app - perhaps they can help you get the same. I've found that Awesome and E6 both overstate my numbers - Garmin app is bang on accurate.
Wanted to give an update, I think I've just lost some clubhead speed with in the week or so since buying the unit. Played this weekend and average drive was more like 220-230 vs. the 240-260 I was getting prior (checked with Garmin S62 watch) but I was hitting more fairways and didn't any huge out of control slices or hooks.
I also have mine setup on a concrete patio and read that concrete can affect the readings so I ordered a rubber mat to put between the unit and my ball. So considering that I think it is actually pretty close.
I don’t really think so. I just tried Awesome golf, exactly the same numbers with Garmin golf, 20 - 30 yards short for all my irons. Frustrated!
