I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
I want to love this thing had such high hopes and as is has become an enormous let down.
I purchased the garmin R10 golf launch monitor and I saw these posts regarding distances being off. I am having the same issue. It seems accurate with wedges up to a pitching wedge, but from then on the distances are very short. I am using a net outdoors, have checked the distances between net and the ball, (8 feet), and 6 feet from ball to R10. I used a level to make sure the R10 was level with the ball and also level horizontally. I got alignement accurate but seem to still be having short distances. I have tried in three different locations in my back yard area which is quite large. any tips or advice would be appreciated. I think this is a great product, but if the distances are off by as much as they are it kinda makes it pointless. I would say the irons are 20yards off, or 1-2 clubs short and I cant get any distance at all with driver. My average driver distance according to Arccos is 230 metres, but I cant seem to get a reading bust 150m.
thanks
changing elevation from 1000ft to 3000ft added 10 yards on my Drive. the three first images are at 1000ft and the other 3 images are at 3000ft
Hi Rob, do you have an update on this ? The product has been a total let down and really not what we are expecting.
Why are all the YouTube videos /promoters showing zero issues ? Rick Shields is meant to be bringing out a video and I do trust his reviews even if he is sponsored by Garmin.
My friends R10 arrived while he had my unit in hand on borrow. Got a txt that the new unit behaved exactly as my unit. Short distances. So much for his theory that I had a bad unit.... Its just annoying to see about the same distances from 9 through my 7 iron. I am not a long hitter with irons but I know I can hit a 7I 150 NO PROBLEM... Its a miracle to get even close to "at the range ball distance" indoors. Hate this thing "as is" I'm a good WOODs striker and its a miracle to get anything over 220yds with driver indoors. We played a round against each other in HTH over just over the phone on same course... he's hitting into net in his backyard, I'm in my garage of course.... I usually out drive him on course and he's getting 260 yard drives while my good strikes are getting 195-205.... WTH. I have carpet rolled out to cover the concrete, no other interferance... 10ft to net, tried 5ft, 6ft, 7ft, 8ft to R10.... levelling, aligning....nothing works.
Just ordered a second hand Skytrak to compare the two.
When I tested outside R10 was good, indoors not good. Chipping outside with the R10 was good in my garden- 12 to 17yd chips.
Sounds like the R10 needs an indoor mode to adjust the stats for limited flight. Work in progress for Garmin.
I've got the feeling I'll have to reluctantly sell the R10 and maybe purchase again once the indoor issues are ironed out. Shame as I really like the included apps.
Thats a good point about indoor mode... when I had the Flightscope it had an indoor mode option, and at the time I wasn't really sure what benefit it offered but makes perfect sense now.
Just an FYI I had 3 friends over to test this. They all were hitting very similar distances to the course. I was hitting about 20 yards shorter than usual with a 9 iron. Seems like I am scoupling the ball indoors compared to playing outdoors. All their shits seemed to come up correct while my spin and launch were huge. Also off shots such as shanks and hooks seem to be picked up very accurately
I think we need to be realistic about our swings and consider that we’re not as good as we think.
Most of us need to see these PGA averages to compare. You’ll be surprised how accurate the Garmin is by comparing with these figures.
In my opinion if your a single digit handicapper the R10 is fairly accurate. Where is not good is when you hit a bad shot like a topped shot it shows maybe 20-30 yards straight into the ground where in real life that shot would have gone 100-150 yards depending on the club hit
