I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
I want to love this thing had such high hopes and as is has become an enormous let down.
no, I am not, I live in Los Angeles. The guy selling it lives in Houston. I am just mentioning because it is helpful. It's a well made product that helps to align the R10 on a consistent basis. I also keep mentioning it because the issue of alignment keeps coming up in the comments across the R10 forum and it's obvious many don't know about it. There are a few people making alignment devices out of plywood, lumber, pvc and those materials are bulkier and actually cost more. Furthermore, he's charging a small price (under $20) for something that Garmin should have included or designed in their $600 product.
And even if I was the guy selling them, what's it to you? Do you have a competing product? Are you skittish of spending $20 when you just dropped $600 on something that's not working well? You're here because you're having issues, right? Why else would you be on this forum? Why the snarky negative comment to someone who's trying to help others?
According to Golf magazine and others the average yards pre MPH swing speed is 2.3 - 2.5 yards. So that would be about 90 x 2.3 = 207
Tried moving my tee further back from the net, so it's 9' now from tee to net. This definitely increased the distances I'm getting. I'd move it back further but I'm afraid of missing the net and sending the ball into the neighbor's yard!
My drives are still a bit shorter than in real life, but overall it's playing more realistically.
thanks, from what I gathered from different sources and observations, drivers tend to use a 2.7 factor (mph x 2.7 = distance)... of course this varies with which club, year of make, and the ball used. Softer golf balls "jump" more off the head at lower, iron speeds. To easily understand this, take 3-4 different balls of different compressions or brand, and drop them from chest high onto concrete or brick. You'll see the difference in bounce.
my results, update on the R10: I hit in the driveway today using a net: iron distances seemed 5% shorter than what I normally hit, and fairway & driver distances were around 15% shorter. I wonder if the unit needs much more than the 8' ball flight. I did push the net back to 10' flight distance and it made no difference.
If they penalize 10% if you're in the rough then why not let us boost the distance by 10, 20 whatever seems right for the player.
I think there definitely needs to be a user configuration mode as my distances are miles off. The higher the club the more the distances seem to be off. Garmin-Rob The ability to tweak the distance % would make a big difference.
Does lighting in the room you are using the R10 in have an affect on its performance?
will brighter light on the ball help?
Don't think so as its radar based.
