I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
I want to love this thing had such high hopes and as is has become an enormous let down.
updated my garmin to the most recent firmware, unfortunately all the distances are way off and everything is flying lower and shorter.
im a 3.6 HC and know my distances fairly well. My 7 iron typically goes about 175 carry for 180 roll out. Ive struggled to ever get one to carry over 150 and they seem to have about 25 yards of roll out… even when hitting what I perceive to be a high cut.
Garmin is 8ft behind, outdoors, hitting into a white impact screen that’s 14ft away.
please help!
New here, got my garmin… Updated it priory to use to the most recent firmware, unfortunately all the distances are way off and everything is flying lower and shorter.

Varying the distance of the R10 to the hitting area may help… a user on the Facebook group said 1.75m (5.8’) was best for his setup. I’m estimating with two lengths of my 60deg wedge at the range and it seems fine… in general the unit seems to perform better outdoors.
The description of your setup sounds dead on, though you are at the outer distance of where they recommend putting the r10 behind the ball.
Post a photo of setup?
It seems my day at the range was just a one off for 3.6. The next day the device seems like it was back to not reading correctly. Giving me all types of AoA numbers on all clubs. 90% of the time I can rely on ball speed, club speed. I think the mat may have something to do with it. I used the same area I had with the good numbers after the new update, but completely different no matter what I tried. Ball flight is better than 3.3. My driver distances are better too. Before they were too long.
Thanks so much, ill give that a try this afternoon and will post my findings.
recently updated my software to 3.6. My indoor flight seems better however the yardage is still not great. I am still about 2 clubs shy at least of what I should be on 6, 7, 8, 9, pw.
Do I need a replacement unit?
7 iron = 150 -160
8 = 140-150
9 = 120-135
PW = 110-120
The one table is my averages - The Max is me just hammering at the ball, minimum is a 3/4 swing. I know that messes with the averages a bit but for sure there is a lot not happening. My shot shape is pretty poor indoor. if I am swinging for a cut it just shows the ball going straight out to the left. Same for a draw only shows going towards the right but they just dont come back.
I play on league 1x per week and on average golf around 3x per week. I am currently a 9 handicap.
I tested outdoors and found that yardages were quite accurate with 8,9,pw. So It is definitely an indoor range issue.
Basic setup, few improvements since I will post when I snag another picture however I am still not satisfied. The point of this unit was to dial in my numbers and instead I find myself slamming the ball to try to get my real number.
FYI - same with E6 or Garmin apps.
Also where is the Landscape mode for Ipad!?!
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO HERE??? - VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!
update to my last post. I received my replacement unit. I tested it first out of the box, outdoors, into a net. Distance net to ball 8-9 feet, unit to ball ~7'. I started with my 8i as that's my favorite/most reliable club. I have to say things looked decent out of the box to start with irons, but not great with longer clubs. It looks like it had firmware 3.40 on it (never released to most of us as far as I could tell). So I did update to 3.60 and then continued testing. Overall things seem much better than my previous unit. My 8i when struck well was carrying ~110 with a total distance around 120, which is exactly what I would expect. My previous unit I would struggle to get total distance over 100 and not once got a carry distance over 100 (even after upgrading to 3.60). I had to swing much harder than normal to get over 100 total distance with my 8i. So there was DEFINITELY something wrong hardware wise with my unit. Now it seems my irons are all very accurate 9i-5i as long as I make good contact I get the distance I expect. I haven't tried wedge as I think I will clear my current net. Things go a little wrong when I get into my 4h-driver. Launch angles seem to be a bit low, but ball speed is right (compared to one session I've done on a GC Hawk). So the carry ends up being too short, and thus total distance is too short. But it's still MUCH better than it was on my previous unit. My 4H carry distance was about 20 yards short. Driver closer to 40 yards short on carry, but total distance was maybe 25 yards short (low launch angle and the garmin is giving me a lot more roll out). On GC I'd get ball speed of low 120's and launch angle of 14-15deg giving me carry of ~200-210. R10 gives me ball speeds in low 120, but launch angle of 9-10 degrees and carry of 170. Which maybe I'm hitting it bad today, but they felt good. I have the unit on a board that is levelled with a level and just higher than the mat. Maybe tilting the unit forward more would help with launch angle. But at least the ball speeds are now reasonable compared to what I expect!
I have the latest firmware update like everyone else. The distance is way off when hitting into a net.
I usually carry my 8i 150yrd, total is 160-165 with roll. When I test R10 with 8i I get 110-120 carry =total 130 roll
Garmin please fix the distance. This is hitting the net outside wide open with nothing blocking and not inside garage or house.
I took the R10 to the driving range to compare but it is still not correct. At the driving range I measure the target 160 and when I hit my 8i it went pass the 160 target and roll out to 170-175 with wind behind but R10 data read 140carry.
I’m having same problem. I was excited hearing about the update but my numbers are still way too low. I also have an early unit. I’m wondering if that is the problem.
