I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

The accuracy statement outlined on the Garmin site here Accuracy of Approach R10 Radar outlines the accuracy for radar following standard deviation true for the Approach R10. The algorithm derived metrics…
I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
Same here - on most of my shots on the R10 I am 1-2 clubs short compared to my real golf distances. I believe we are many experiencing this - do we have anyone from Garmin here who can report at ticket…
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I noticed the unit is very sensitive to pre-swing movement of the club head. The indicator light shows red when I waggle or move the driver clubhead behind the ball. It takes a few seconds for the red light to change after steadying the clubhead.
A little annoying, but not sure if anything can be done with this type unit. Definitely teaching me to not waggle or have a pre-swing routine.
Also noticed the indicator light turned red sometimes when performing the pre-swing routine a few steps away from the ball.
If the unit is incorporating the pressing routine, bound to have inconsistencies and misreads.
been there, done that... 4 times. what balls for Garmin to price this turkey $100 more than the Mevo or Rapsodo. I wonder if they ever tried an impromptu survey amongst their employees to gauge how this product will be received, "ehem, who here, by a show of hands, likes to waste time and money? Anyone?"
I tried "no waggle" since the guy on Lets Play Thru on YouTube mentioned that issue. I still had the same problems with the unit. Also, most golfers and pros have a waggle at address to adjust hands and grip.
Tested for the first time last night with a net. Was outside. With 5i and less it was pretty solid. Numbers with 5i was getting 190 carry with 200 total which was pretty close. 3w and Driver was terrible. I was getting 150 club head speed and 154 ball speed. 200 carry and 215 totals. Wasn’t even close. Outside on the range with no net really good, with net was awful.
Yes, I agree most people have a waggle. Hopefully Garmin can figure something out.
I am using it outside with a net. (version 3.30)
garmin -> 210cm -> tee -> 350cm ->net
distances are a joke. About 30% short. Makes me hitting harder then my talent can handle. So pretty useless.
Very disappointed.
Tried everything with lining- and leveling out, lowering en lifting the r10. Changing distance to net. Makes no significant difference.
Before this i had the swing-caddy sc300, the distances on that thing seemed to be fine. I wish i hadn't sold it.
Club data, horizontal shot directions and shape seems to be ok-ish.
Now in doubt what to do, sending it back for a refund?
Trying to replace my unit via Garmin?
Waiting for a firmware upgrade?
The last 2 options eliminates the first one, so, thats why i am in doubt.
Garmin: HELP!
Same problem with distance being really short. Hitting into net outdoors. 8 feet to net and R10 8 feet behind ball. Version 3.3
I'm getting exactly the same thing when hitting into a net. 1 to 2 clubs short all the time compared to real distances measured on-course or at the range. Wish there was a way to calibrate it for use into a net.
Great research!! too bad the Garmin app can't simply export info like this. Dear Garmin, this is what real golfers want. It would be nice to have this on the app as a view, plus another with visual trajectories (like the rapsodo), plus one with club breakdown on carry, total distance, etc... so we can map our bags. As for this data, it seems the issue with the hardware is reading velocities... the higher the velocity (i.e. driver and long irons), the higher the error.
