Vivoactive 3 firmware 6.90 cause watch faces to crash

Please check the newest firmware for issues that causes watch faces to crash.

e.g. https://apps.garmin.com/de-DE/apps/fc3f9b9f-add6-46cb-8e0b-9a2172a04c31

All vivoactive 3 users with the latest firmware are reporting the same affect, the watch face crashes directly. No start is possible.

No crash error logging is written into the log file of the watch.

The simulator of the SDK works perfectly with the watch face (3.0.12/3.1.4) and the last issues caused by the watch face was reported a year ago.

Thanks for support and please keep up testing your software.

  • I returned my Vivoactive 3 on two occasions and now I am on to my third watch.  I think their software is just too complicated for them to manage.  My watch face has an altimeter which often puts me about 86 metres below sea level, when I am up on dry land (and above sea level). I wish I had bought a vintage Seiko King Seiko with the money instead, or even another knock off Omega from Turkey, which is fab by the way!  I certainly won't be shelling out for another fitness watch after my experiences with my Vivoactive 3.

  • Notyhing works in this watch :( im losing my patient....

  • My RAILS watch face is stable under normal use now, except when I either go in the shower or swim.  Then it disappears until doing a restart.

Even though my software is now version 6.94 if I connect to Garmin Express it shows software up-to-date version 6.3.  Has Garmin pulled the 6.9 version?

  • Had this too. I noticed that Storage.getvalue() is real slow. I replaced it with Apllication.getproperty which was much faster and as a bonus no crashes wen scrolling fast. Of course this is only helpfull if you write your own widgets :-S . I suppose it is another quirk of the new firmware.

  • I downloaded and installed the previously mentioned Beta Version 6.94 and thought I had a fix.  Unfortunately it only lasted for a day and I had another drop out of my watch face RAILS. today.  Which, I have to say is better than it was but obviously not a result.
