Sensor Manager: Unable to Connect ANT+ devices to Connect IQ simulator on WIN 10 (SDK 8.x.x)

I cannot connect any ANT+ device to the SDK 8.2.1 simulator via ANT+ stick anymore.

I have tried nameless sticks also as Garmin original ANT+ stick.

The window for found ANT devices remains empty.

Tried radar 515, Garmin HR belt, Stages powermeter - nothing works with SDK 8.2.1.

No problems using SDK 7.4.3 !

Parents
  • Interestingly in Mac it doesn't work in 7.4.3 but it does work in 8.3.0

To be clear: I don't see the sensor (which is my fr965 broadcasting HR) in the "Manage sensors" window, but my app does get the HR in GenericChannel

  • Actually I do see it also in the Sensors manager. BTW clicking on the Add button crashes the app that is running, but then the sensor is found.

However I don't see any difference in how the sensor is found in my app. This is either strange or I don't understand what the Sensor manager is supposed to simulate. My app connects directly to the ANT sensor, so on real devices I have to make sure the user doesn't pair and connect the device in the system menu, because once it's connected there the app that uses GenericChannel doesn't see it any more. However in the simulator I can see my HR both when the Paired sensors list is empty and when my fr965 appears there. Although it's status is displayed as searching, so maybe this means it's like when I do have the sensor paired in the system menu, but not connected? Not sure.

Another possible reason why it works is that in the Sensors manager the ANT ID is the long one (917791) but in CIQ I see the short one (287)
